Excellent diner style food downtown! Hard finding a good place to eat downtown. Burger so good I need a nap at this point! The bacon was crispy, and the fries had this seasoning on it that was really tasty! ???????? Get the roy Rogers with Tater tots!

I've gone to this place several times before as well as the group I'm with across the street at the courthouse. I have always been satisfied with what I've ordered. They do have wonderful burgers and other menu items that are just as good as their burgers. I would gladly give them a five star because of their food is worth it. The only reason for the four stars is because they don't have enough venting to clear out the smell of the cooking burgers. It can give me a headache and that's just a personal thing. Other than that that's just a thing I can brush off. But please stop by they are a wonderful little joint.

Candy's was super close to my hotel and I decided to give it a try for lunch. The burger was great and the onion rings were some of the best I've had in a long time texture and taste both very very good. It seems to be a local favorite, ~5 minutes after taking the picture of the empty lobby, it got swarmed by hungry workers there was nowhere to sit. Glad I got in early, recommend and will definitely come back!

Fantastic old fashioned burgers in a small old fashioned burger shop. Burger was amazing, fries were perfectly seasoned, fast service, and the staff was super friendly. If you're in San Antonio and want a good burger just off the riverwalk, definitely recommend.

The burgers were awesome! Very friendly and welcoming family/staff. It was a great way to start my first visit to Texas. It was almost closing and they allowed us to eat inside. Everything was cooked fresh to order and I highly recommend if you're in the area.

Had the Old Fashioned Cheeseburger combo, which was delicious. Finished it off with one of their brownies. This is a hole-in-the-wall worth visiting. The theme is "Old-Fashioned," but it was established in 2006 (not really old-fashioned). Memorabilia on the wall provide some nostalgia (metal signs, outdated word processors, musical instruments), as well as a glimpse of Candy's history, including a group picture with the folks down the street at Frost Bank (guessing they financed them). Too many ceiling fans, but lots of heart.

My Dad and I went to Candy's Old Fashion Restaurant today and we had a great time. My Dad got the Chili Cheeseburger and I got the Fried Catfish Basket. He enjoyed his Chili Cheeseburger. My Fried Catfish was great as well. The frying batter was not too much and it was coated evenly on my catfish. When I paid for my food, the cashier sprayed disinfectant spray on my credit card and wiped it down. No one has ever done this before. All the staff was very nice. I will definitely go again.
