Good old-fashioned diner style burger place. Great prices for home style burgers that taste high quality. Juicy burger but the bun held up really well. The waffle fries were crispy and had a little bit of seasoning that worked really well. Two people can sit down with decked out burgers, drinks and share fries. For about $30. Prices are pictured as of the date of this post. Would have cost $50 at Pa**a burger. Will be back!

Very good hamburger and fries, and our orders came out quickly. We had a party of about 20 diners, and staff was very helpful getting our tables pulled together.

Not what it used to be at all. The original location is still okay, but most locations are hit or miss. Food is still alright, but definitely not amazing like it used to be. They used to serve a VERY good burger, and it was the exact reason why they became so famous. I wish we could go back in time and bring that burger back. Now it’s just a decent burger at best.

Clean burger place with friendly staff who listen and care about you. The burger is made fresh from scratch, never pre frozen meat. Real cheese, from a real cow. Mooo.! Always fresh. Truly a delicious great hamburger, you will be back for !! Mo. ;) - Enjoy

I've been a soutwells fan my entire life. They have been in operation nearly 40 years and are a houston staple. My first job was at the memorial location in high school! :) For those that have lived near one of the locations for any length of time knows southwells is the neighborhood go-to for good food at any time of the day thats delicious and affordable!! When I think of what a burger (or chicken sandwich) should taste like, southwells is what comes to mind. What I appreciate most is how the food isn't greasy and they don't drown it in condiments. The meat is always hot, the buns are always warm and toasty, and the veggies are always cool and fresh, and overall the sandwiches are the perfect size. I've never walked out disappointed with my order! I'm a fan of order-at-the-counter restaurants and southwells steps it up a level by bringing your food to you at your table so you don't have to listen to an annoying loud speaker calling out orders while you eat. The staff is always very friendly and the orders move qiluick (even at its busiest you won't wait more than about 10 minutes for your food to come out) The prices are only about a dollar or two more than whataburger and much less than all other restaurants in the area. I rotate between the regular cheese burger and the chicken supreme ???????????? the waffle fries are where it's at (be sure to ask for a side of the homemade ranch to go along with it!!) You won't be disappointed!!!

I had the bacon cheeseburger with a side of waffle fries and an iced tea. The burger was the perfect size. Plenty of meat, bacon and veggies for every bite. Clean place. And nice staff. I will be back and I will definitely recommend to others

I stopped in for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one person in line before me and several others already in the dining room eating . I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and waffle fries to go. The food was ready in about 10 minutes. I requested a few small modifications which were fulfilled with no issues. The bacon was cooked crispy which I like. So many other restaurants serve you undercooked bacon on burgers. The burger was decent but didn’t have a lot of flavor. Good portion size. Fair prices.

Neighborhood Favorite.
Great burger for $7 bucks plus a side of onion rings (Just great rings ????) $3.
Ordered the Blue Cheese burger and my partner the Hickory Burger with mushrooms and grilled onions. Both burgers were good size for the price. Soft buns, juicy but not to juicy and out well together.
Onion rings were on point. Even better when dipped in their BBQ sauce (sweet and tangy, nice zing to it)
The cashier was friendly, well mannered. Took some food to a old couple in there car. (Was sweet of him) ????
