This a really low key and down to earth seafood joint. They have a lot of choices on the menu so there is something for everyone.

Protip, check the Facebook page before your visit and you can usually score some great deals posted on that page.

This was probably the best fried oysters and shrimp I have ever had. I got the 6 oysters and 6 shimp basket. Plenty of food and it was delicious! Definitely will be back!

Low key fish shack vibe. Order and pick up at the counter. Wide selection of fried and grilled seafood combos. Plenty of sides to choose from, too. We really enjoyed the fried shrimp and catfish basket with fries. Lots of fun things to look at on the walls and friendly people behind the counter. Seating inside and out. Clean, unassuming, highly recommend!

Good food, clean restaurant. Not full-size fish fillets but fried well. Would possibly visit again if I'm in the area.

Good service, clean place but the food’s flavor very flat, we ordered a basket of fried oysters and fried tilapia tacos, one time visit only

Man honestly these reviewers must be from out of town. Ima be honest because this place was not all that some people are making it out to be. Fish is claimed to be red snapper but had a rubbery texture, gumbo was low budget and had more okra in it than anything else. Crawfish had a decent flavor but was dry no juice in the shell. Tried the etoufee and it gave me chef bouyardee vibes with the sauce base, plus the vegetables in it were too crunchy. Potatoes, corn and boiled shrimp had very little flavor. This was senior citizen food and God bless the seniors but this tasted like “nursing home” so I could see how they could enjoy this. Somebody from Oregon or Delaware must have tried to start a Cajun restaurant, can’t see why folks are goin crazy over this, but then again Houston/Texas gettin an influx of newcomers who don’t know better, and to that I say bless yalls hearts. Try places like Saigon house on 1960, or Mikes Seafood on Bisonnet and get back at me. This experience at “The Flying Fish” was the poor man’s version of “Floyd’s” and Floyd’s ain’t all that but it’s damn respectable.

Tried this place for the first time of I’m sure will be many last night. Service was friendly and food came out quick and hot. Both of my friends enjoyed their dishes as well. Very broad menu with plenty options. Gotta go back to get the hula poppers. The fried Jalapeño chips were phenomenal and came with two dipping sauces. Dining room was spacious and very cool. Would highly recommend.

We ordered seafood gumbo, jumbalaya, and 4 pounds of crawfish. The seafood gumbo was excellent and the jumbalaya was great, too. The crawfish was a total disappointment. We’re in season, but these crawfish were tiny. They were really not worth the effort. Last year I came here, and they were good. But this batch was way too small. Do yourself a favor: don’t order the crawfish.

Good food and nice staff. This place looks clean and was relatively busy during lunch. Cajun platter and combo platter both was good.

We have been going here for fish for several years and it is always the best and freshest fish. I usually order the Salmon or Trout. It is consistently delicious! The side dishes too are excellent. The manager Roy and his helpul staff are gracious and extremely helpful.

Everything we had was very delicious. Fish was all fresh and the new potatoes were the best I've had in a long time. Prices are a little high for a casual restaurant but they're in line with other places of the same quality. Will definitely be returning.

If you looking for some good Fish, Shrimp, Fries, Hush puppies or red beans and rice, PLEASE PLEASE don't go to this place.

FIRE THE CHEF!!!

All of the food was so bland, not a pinch of salt.
The fries were old and hard, same with the Hush puppies.
The beans and rice, OMG, the worst ever!

At the end of it all, I asked for a refund. That's how bad it was.

And CDC GUIDELINE, FAILED
NO EMPLOYEES WITH MASK AND EVERYONE PLAYING WITH THEIR NASTY PHONE, YUCK????
