Fantastic food and wonderful friendly service. The sushi is fresh and the presentation is excellent! Highly recommend for done in and take out. Have tried numerous places in the neighborhood but this sushi restaurant is the best hands down!

Ordered pick up from here, a mix of the regular rolls and the kiwi one. Delicious sushi!! 10/10 would recommend! Can't wait to eat here again!

Literally the best local sushi spot ! Been coming here for a while , finally took the time to give them the credit. Love their portions, everything comes out super fast. They always bring out something on the house , usually sweet potato roll. Hardly any wait time , usually in and out. Everything is fresh and tastes good.

What happened to my favorite sushi place ? It's going downhill. I completely understand that prices went up, everything did, but the quality shouldn't suffer. Naruto is half the size and the dancing salmon is a shame it's 90% tempura batter and 10% salmon. The only consistent thing is the snow main. Oh when I called the owner (and texted him pictures) I was told that he sees a little of salmon there, the what! And how dare I tell him that they send us garbage, I said it because you did. And this is not the first time I had a situation with the rude person that picked up the phone, I am a customer and guess what you should have some customer service skills, don't yell and argue with your customers! Oh and to top it all off the delivery driver tried to rip me off $4 and give himself an extra tip. My bill was 91.56 he told me it was 95.56 and was refusing to give me my receipt, telling me I don't get one, of course because you wanted to rip me off ! Well dear Umi Sushi you just lost a customer that has been a customer for over 5 years! And has been ordering sushi for $100-$150 sometimes even 2 times a week.

Came here for some sushi rolls and everything was tasty and fresh. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and they also gave us some veg tempura roll to try. The take out order was prepared right on time and they even called to remind us. Definitely a gem and will be returning.

***Update: This spot remains to be my go to & my fiancées go to! Wonderful staff & owners! Always smiling and willing to accommodate any changes to order & obviously you have to pay if it’s something extra. They’ve been following all health guidelines in regards to the pandemic. Food is always tasty! I can’t wait to return and sit down inside and enjoy their bountiful selections!! Also be wary of these low one star reviews below. Seems to be a TROLL on the loose. **
This spot is just fantastic! Best sushi I’ve had in a while. Nice little spot. Prices are amazing and sushi is fresh. Staff is always polite and friendly. They always give complimentary items to you as you dine. Once got 3 complimentary dishes as we dined. I think it’s because they saw us 4 times in one week, haha. That’s how good it is. I love sushi so this is a must visit spot. It gets busy so be prepared to wait a bit. Their lunch specials and dinner specials are a fantastic deal for anyone on a budget. Kani salad, Miso Soup, the Green Tea, Bulgoki, all amazing! Definitely my new go to spot!

I came here because the other sushi shop ( Nikko ) 2 doors down was rude. I came to review their restaurant again and asked why the employees were yelling and she stated “ that’s how we talk” so I came to Umi Sushi instead. There were more people in Umi sushi than their competitor’s ( Nikko Sushi ) next door. A clear sign I was in for a treat. I had the sushi and sashimi combo. The waiter gave me a sample of the sushi called sweet potato mango with sauce and I loved it so much that I had a platter of it to dine in. Everything was fresh, even the soy sauce. And the waiter refilled my glass of water without me asking him to do that. That’s service in my book.I even watched him clean the table after the bus boys clean the table meticulously.the bathroom was clean also. The employees preparing the food all wore gloves and face masks. My bill came out to $33.64, no bad for lunch. Please patronize this place.

I’ve been coming to Umi Sushi for yearsss and it’s always been a hit. From their food to their pricing, literally everything is perfect. It’s a small restaurant located on Union turnpike, but in an area with parking, and typically not too busy. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve seen orders lined up for pick-up, even throughout the pandemic.
I ordered the shrimp shumai and some typical rolls - spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura. I also ordered one special roll - Spicy two in one. Each roll was freshly prepared and filling. The staff is very attentive and gave us a sweet potato roll on the house as well! So sweet of them. I highly recommend this hole in the wall!
TIP - this location is near St John’s University, and now that college classes have started, I would recommend making reservations to ensure seating for dinners!

By far one of the best sushi spots! One specialty roll, shrimp tempura, california roll, beverages, edamame, kani salad all for 37$. The sushi tasted fresh and was absolutely delicious! We also got a roll on the house which was super nice! The staff was welcoming but also very nice and attentive! Will definitely be coming back here!
