Meh, I wasn't impressed. I am from KC and was super excited to go. But I didn't feel like this was KC bbq at all. Sausage was full of fillers, the sauce was not good at all. And the chili was full of grease. I tried the classic and the mustard sauce and neither was good. I got the special of the day, rib tips, sausage, and chili.

Good to know that places like this exist in Long Island City /Astoria! Great foo. Live music on Thursdays. Ribs and brisket are always a good option.

Can’t believe it took me so long to come here - such a great place with outstanding food. The pulled pork and brisket were the stars but the cornbread was out of this world. Definitely come here on an empty stomach because you will be full by the time you leave. They have live music and a nice outdoor seating area which is the icing on the cake!

I was feeling thirsty and decided to try out their cucumber vodka lemonade. It was refreshing, not overly sweet and the right about of booze to feel relaxed. Their “cornbread” is hands down one of the best I’ve ever had and I’m from Atlanta. It’s not your typical block of cornbread bread but the taste is unmatchable!

Man, you're gonna love this place. Food is great, ambience is great, and prices are really good. My favorite sandwich was the brisket one, so tender and juicy, lots of flavor. I also tried the pastrami sandwich and the signature sandwich: John Brown Pastrami on rye with coleslaw and suisse cheese. Do the signature one, better than the regular one. There's just one thing that bothers me just a little, you need a more consistent white bread, after 2 bites the sandwich felt apart. Still great food.

Spicy chopped beef was so good! So was the corn bread (even if it was surprisingly the soft crumbly, almost-pudding-like kind.). Can’t wait to return and try the rest of the menu!

Went midday (~3pm on a Monday). Not busy at all. Good and fast service.

Staff was nice. Especially the lady tending the tables. Fries were well seasoned and nicely fried. Mac and cheese had good flavoring. But that's about it.

Brisket was terribly dry. Shouldn't need sauce to make it good, but we had to in this case. It was lunch time, not even dinner/end of day.

Even though cut right.... it didn't do well on the bend test.

I didn't order ribs...but saw people enjoying them. Don't think we'd go back there...unless someone I know vouches for another meat.

One of the more known and beloved BBQ spots in New York. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good - and if someone said they were the best in NYC, I'd believe them. The burnt ends and the brisket were not bad at all. They misheard my collard green order as "cornbread" but the cornbread was surprisingly good - plush, sweet and moist. The ghost pepper BBQ sauce isn't spicy in the slightest. Fries were excellent.

This place is a hidden gem. I went in and was very hungry. You want to eat with your eyes. The workers are very friendly and helpful. When we finally decided we ordered beef brisket, rib and 1/4 chicken special, corn bread, collard greens (have bits of meat), Mac and cheese, rib tip sandwich, and I can't remember what other rib style. The meat has a delicious dry rub. The pineapple Ace is really good if you like sweet. The lady working on the floor was really nice and helped us with sauces. You try the ghost pepper sauce if you dare. The sauce gives your meal and extra kick but you don't have to. They play nice music also. I will be coming back with the rest of my family. Sooo... delicious!

Went there twice. Great place to go after just picking someone up at LGA airport.
Food was overall pretty good- we didn’t care for either the cornbread (it was too brownie-like consistency) nor the Mac and cheese (overcooked). Beans were average, (I had better at DINO BBQ, but that’s just my pallet).
If you’re like my BF, you’re going to want to order a pitcher of shiner rather than 4 individual cups. ($)
