If there’s 3.5 stars I would do that. But it’s hardly 4 star for me to say.
The wagyu sando is the only thing worth tasting tonight. $88/ 12 bites, it’s cool. But the main thing is, the service is really really slow. No one serve you water after they order your food. The Cesar salad was just fine, the octopus was ok. But the uni ramen was not okay, the other table has a larger portion of uni, and the taste of the noodles were really weird, maybe the truffle was not very fresh. So I didn’t eat the noodles. But if you love wagyu and only wanna eat wagyu for dinner and ready to wait 75 minutes for food. Then that’s a good place to go.

Everything we ordered was really good. The wagyu beef sandwich probably was one of my favorites. The beef was juicy and tender that melts in your mouth, and the sandwich on the outside was thin and crispy. The uni mazemen is a must try. The noodle was bouncy and creamy, and filled with uni flavor…so umamiiii

We ordered the wagyu sando, the crispy octopus and the karaage. The karaage was okay at best but the octopus and the sando were the stars. We were 3 and could not finish the sando, it was quite heavy. Overall a lovely meal, drinks took a while to arrive but will visit again.

Great Japanese fusion restaurant with reasonable price. ( a bit pricey but the ingredient is also good)

The uni mazamen is a really good dish. The portion is pretty big and definitely enough for one person for a main dish, even for sharing.
The uni sauce is really good and savory, I would recommend it a lot.

The fried chicken is pretty good, and the portion is really big as a share plate.
The egg on egg on egg is really savory. The caviar and uni on top of warm egg is really good.

The beef tartare is great, and the spicy miso sauce is really a highlight of the dish.
The beef itself is good but not as surprising as other dishes though.

Overall, this is a wonderful Japanese fusion restaurant but a bit expensive, but you will not regret the money you spent on the cuisine here!

Nice fusion Japanese food - New York trendy
Food - some top options served. My favorite was the waygu served in toast. You have to savor each bite.
Atmosphere - smaller restaurant ( typical of new York) intimate setting with the dark decor.
Cost - in line with New York dining. Pricey, but what do you expect. I had to get french fries next door after because I was still hungry.
Service - service was good.

I was really excited to try this restaurant and after eating there I can confidently say it did not disappoint. I came here primarily for the wagyu sliders, and while the meat was delicious and perfectly cooked I wasn’t a big fan of the bread they use to make the sliders which had a stale bread/cracker texture so I just ended up eating the meat by itself. The Egg on Egg on Egg was mind blowing and is one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. The dish perfectly balanced the flavors and textures of the sea urchin, caviar, and scrambled egg into one cohesive and absolutely delicious final product. I can’t wait to come back and try more items from the menu, and of course reorder the Egg on Egg on Egg.

SakaMai is an absolute highlight in New York. The restaurant offers high-quality Japanese fish and meat dishes. The restaurant also has its own sake bar. Everyone must try the wague sandwich. But also the other dishes were extremely tasty. The team was extremely good and polite. A great experience!
