This place was awesome. We got there right before closing and was still served. I haven't had haitian food since I visited Haiti almost 2 years ago. I ordered the red snapper with black rice and plantains. I started off with a margarita. Yo that thang was sKrong. Yes sKrong with a capital K. It will get you right. The red snapper was huge. I could only eat half but the flavoring was so good and on point especially with a lil red sauce and pikliz. This is a must try!

This restaurant has to do better with their cooking. I must honestly say this was the worst salmon I ever had. And the black rice was also the worst I ever had as it was more like fried rice, it totally missed the Haitian flavoring and the salmon was tasteless and only had a hard layer of seasoning on the top which was crispy and not good at all. The drink that I had which was a mangotini was not tasty either although it’s presentation was nice. My husband is Haitian so I know what delicious Haitian food tastes like and this restaurant was not it. The waitress also was not good as you could tell she was not West Indian and did not know anything about the menu nor how to pronounce the dishes. I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about as they probably are not of West Indian background and can’t tell the difference with our food.

Wow! The food and the ambiance at Rebel was amazing. Best Haitian food I’ve had in a very long time. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and I enjoyed the vibes. The customer service was on point and the DJ was playing all my jams. I will be sure to visit again the next time I’m in NYC. I really wish they would open a location in California.

I really enjoyed the food here. Rebel has been on my list for a while so I was happy being able to finally come. The lambi and diri djon djon was delicious and fresh. I really enjoyed the akra that I did another order of it for take out. Great ambience and great customer service. I think the only thing is portion size should be a little bigger for the prices you pay for the food, but otherwise everything else was good.

I made reservations for another restaurant near by, and Rebel attracted me with its music and vibe. So I ended up switching at the last minute. Great decision I made. The food, the music was amazing. I love the diversity of the menu and how it had a touch of Haiti. The Barbancourt selection hooked me on. I love the fact that I can taste the food I love and enjoy. The staff was amazing and accommodating. I took my cousin there for her birthday and they were great at making sure she celebrated her birthday right. Thank you for your hospitality. A night well spent. Make sure to check out the restaurant.

So I stumbled across this place, waiting for a table for another place. Service is amazing and the owner took care of us. I loved the art work and the vibe in this cozy spot. I ordered a Mangotini and it was strong but so good and sweet. It was perfect. I was with friends we also ordered the calamari to share. It was fresh, hot and delicious. I will definitely be back to try some entrees. It’s also black owned!

The food and service was exceptional. We had the fried goat and the fried beef, they were crispy and tender inside. I had a pear martini that was smooth and not too sweat. The live DJ was awesome but not too loud, you could still have a conversation with your party. If you're craving Haitian food this place is a definite must.

Came here with my cousins. We're Haitian so it was fitting. There was music playing and they had a DJ so it was a fun vibe.

I tried the Rebel punch and the Kreyol punch. The Kreyol punch has Barbancourt (Haitian dark rum). Both were sweet, but not sweet that they tasted like juice. The Kreyol punch is stronger.

We ordered the griot appetizer served with banan peze (fried green plantains) to share. It was prepared well. Everyone liked it.

One of my cousins ordered the Chiktay Aranso. She loves herring. I didn't try it, but she raved about it. It's served with fried green plantains. If you don't eat meat, I think it's a good appetizer to try. It looked flavorful prepared with onions and peppers.

My cousin who were out celebrating got the lobster. He was not expecting it to be fried. Fried lobster tends to be dry so that was disappointing.

Another cousin got the Kreyol chicken. It looked like a very flavorful dish. It came with duri djon djon (black rice) and fried plantains.

I got the signature Barbancourt shrimp. It was really good. It was also served with rice and plantains which were good as well.

Definitely check the restaurant out.

Visited last week Thursday. This was my first time having Haitian cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was fantastic!

I felt right at home. The bartender made my friend and I a special tropical cocktail which was delightful. The chef was also on the floor, meeting with patrons. She even made us yam fritters after we had complimented her on the main meal.

It was an absolute pleasure being there. I would love to visit again!
