Pearl’s Diner does not truly open at 8:00 AM on the weekends. The lady at the front was rude. She began doing her duties at 8:00 AM to open the restaurant. She opened the door at 8:00 AM, asked us to wait and then she began bringing out the table cloths for the outside tables and general set up duties. I waited another 5 minutes to ask if we could sit down. With the a hateful attitude, she said the kitchen is not ready and coffee is still brewing. The restaurant was hot and if we wanted we could go in and sit down. I was really looking forward to eating here being that this is one of the oldest diners in New York. I was horribly disappointed and so I went to another place instead, Black Fox Coffee. They gave great service, beautiful wait staff with friendly service and great attitudes. The food was tasty and we were served in a timely manner. I recommend Black Fox Coffee.

Nice small breakfast. Cost effective. Had maxican omelet. My other family members had veggie omelette, pearl Quesadilla. Everyone enjoyed.

I can’t believe I forgot to write something about the Pearl Diner, but it occurred to me, when chatting with my wife & holiday companions, that it is now in its 60th year!
Anyway, it was our go-to place for breakfast, when staying in an AirBnb apartment nearby in October 2019.
It’s a proper old style diner, no frills, down to earth, simple wholesome food prepared well, and great, friendly service. Waiting staff were so nice & welcoming ; a real pleasure to eat there & I looked forward to breakfast every morning.
I hope to stay nearby again when I next visit New York, because this is where I want to have breakfast!!

The absolute premium authentic experience I was looking for, which I was led with confidence after searching Google for the traditional all American New York diner breakfast with all the trimmings.
The eggs, bacon, home fries, coffee and morning service was all 100% right, and the experience from walking in to walking out was spot on.
With the rise of the premium alternative vegan/vegetarian breakfast on the rise (not a bad thing) I think that it is important to preserve these types of diners also for those wanting to experience something real, authentic and tried and tested for decades.

If you're in the Downtown Manhattan area this is a great little Diner. The staff is super friendly and everything you would expect to be on the menu is there. The place is tiny but it just adds to the overall ambiance of the place. Who doesn't love breakfast all day!

Their latkes need a lot of salt, but that’s what the shaker is for. I strongly suggest you get them extra crispy and with extra applesauce. I’m very interested in coming back.

First experience of an original American diner. Could do with a wee upgrade, but enjoyed it so much went back again. The breakfasts were very good, we didn't need a lunch after eating here. Staff were really good.

This is what you come for when you come to NY for the diner experience. Came at 10am, place was nice and quiet. No queues! All specials include coffee/ tea and juice. Really good prices and the food is DELICIOUS! Just as important is the warm welcome you get, you feel like you’re in someone’s home having breakfast. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Our server was delightful, really chatty while we were waiting for our food, a true New Yorker ☺️ Get yourself down here for a quality breakfast!

I went to this Diner w/ my family to have a nice breakfast. The woman in the front that take the people in was a bit rude. We waited for more than 30 mins till we called her out and ask why were party of 3 and still outside. Meanwhile some people just came and she sit them right away. She have the audacity to say that she heard party of 5 and blame it on me. I can't describe the stress she put me into. Inside it took more than 10 mins for the server to go to our table and take our orders. Food is okay just like Diner food. The server gave us coffee never refill it again. Not a glass of water was offered or brought in out table. We're so disappointed we almost ruined our day. Think before you eat there or experince it yourself. Not going back again!!
