I had a very enjoyable experience at Omar’s this weekend, but with a bunch of problems I think could be fixed. For starters, when I sat down for dinner there wasn’t any drink service whatsoever. They had no water or waiters giving out drinks, just very unclear instructions about how to get your drink. Secondly, they are very understaffed. There was only one person that seemed to be doing everything, and it took about half an hour to get our food, as well as ten minutes to take our order. It seems like Omar’s is more suited to serve people during their lunch break instead of a full sit down dinner. They have a Chipotle style station at the front that they use to serve their customers. Onto the food, their hummus was amazing. I highly recommend it but that’s about all I can say. The chicken was fresh, but ok. It wasn’t what I expected from a shawarma place, but it wasn’t terrible. Not to mention their potato wedges were amazing too. It isn’t listed on their menu, but if you ask them for it they will give it to you. They also give you a complementary baklava with every meal, which is a nice touch to add for desert. Overall, if you are looking for a quick takeout meal,I highly recommend Omar’s, but if you want a sit down experience for dinner, I would go somewhere else.

Heard great things about the food here and lunch did not disappoint! I got the veggie combo. The falafel was absolutely fantastic. Hummus and baba ganoush was great too, along with the tahini. Came with a piece of baklava that ended up being the best I’ve ever tried. Happy I found this restaurant and would definitely come back again. Check it out if you’re in the area! Remember to bring cash!

Wifey had a craving for Mediterranean food, we walked a good 25 minutes to get to this place, i am so glad we did.
We had the falafel pita, the chicken pita and the lamb pita with a side of hummus and falafel.
You could also order a platter, it comes with 2 sides and the pita is on the house.
You order your food and have a choice of take out or dine in. The food will come to your table if you decide to dine in. There is ample amount of tables to sit and enjoy your meal.
The pita was soft and warm, the meat was fresh and flavorful. What made the taste even better was the sauces, there was a garlic /yogurt,mayo and a spicy sauce.
The owner was very friendly and offered us some free goodies to carry with us.

The service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the veggie combo plate and absolutely loved the falafels. The pita breads that they serve complimentary were very soft and so fresh that little steam came out when we tore them open. They also gave us a complimentary piece of Baklava and that was very delicious too.
The price is fair for the amount of food they serve and it being New York. 10/10 recommend !!

This is THE lunch spot during the work week in Midtown. Omar's offers the best chicken shawarma in the area.
On top of that, they have ample indoor seating in the back.
If you order food to go, they'll generously give you a piece of baklava as well. A cherry on top for sure.
Pro-tip: I normally get the pita, but the platter consists of larger portions plus two sides. Order wisely!

Some people say the best places in NY are a hole in the wall...this is it! Lebanese style falafel and incredible lamb kebab with a great amount of salad

Tried one of the chicken with falafel and tabouleh dishes, taste was ok for most, price was ok, portions ok. Also had another chicken in pita dish that tasted similar.
Liked one of the spicy sauces, the chicken, and the baklava. Didn't like the falafel, and thought the tabouleh was ok.

My favorite place in the city! Such a treat! If you’re around stop by and be confident that you are getting some of the best quick stops of the Mediterranean world! The falafel and the shawarma are both delicious in their signature wraps!

Went to this absolutely awesome restaurant looking at reviews here. Did not disappoint at all. The food was so good, we went back a second time in our 3 day stay in NYC for the Marathon. The staff was friendly and fast. The owner was also present and he is so polite and even threw in some goodies for us to take home. Definitely will visit when we are back in NYC.
