For 20 solid years I've been going to MarkJoseph's Steakhouse. The owner, managers, hostesses, waiters, and busboys are top notch. I've never had a bad meal there - and honestly over time - they've become like old friends who are always wonderful to see and chat with when dining. Here's to many more years of serving up great steaks and conversation!

A regular steakhouse I always come to when visiting New York. Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Always perfectly cooked steak to whatever temperature you want.

Whenever we are in NYC we enjoy a healthy meal at MJ. Always some of the best steaks in the world that I know, professional and friendly service and good drinks!

Filet was not that tasty. I got it medium and it just needed season for salt or something. The lobster was over cooked. It was not succulent at all. And the pasta dish was just ok. Same thing the seafood was over cooked. I expected more out of this place. The music was also terrible soft rock. I expected something more romantic or Italian or unique. Service was GREAT tho.

Mark Joseph is a quintessential location for a higher end steakhouse experience- I came here during restaurant week and dined on their 59 dollar menu.
For my appetizer I had the lobster bisque as was recommended- it had small chunks of lobster with a nice deep lobster flavor, it's served with fresh black pepper.
For mains, I had the Sirloin Steak, it's served on hotplates so be careful. I asked for medium rare but some of the steak pieces remain on the hot plate, so cooking times and doneness varied a bit, but was nevertheless very good.
The dessert was a mini brownie sundae, seemed pretty simple and nothing special.
Multiple servers came to prepare each course.

Top notch steakhouse. I'd rate it above Wolfgang's, Charlie Palmer and even Benjamin's. Polite staff, great food and a perfectly charred outside which contemplates the juicy, decadent inside of the meat.

We went here for their restaurant week promotion. The only steak house offering a 14 oz cut of steak with no additional cost added to your tab. The sirloin steak was delicious and came with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Can't really beat that on top of a free appetizer and a dessert. We added a bottle of wine recommended by the waiter which was fruity and sweet, fantastic. He told me to grab the steak and eat it like a caveman. I told him, eating at a steak house requires a certain etiquette, so he brought a cup full of hand wipes and said your paying... do whatever you want!

Lobster and oysters were good but clams were not fresh. Steak was good but.. I'll say that I've made better dry age steaks at home.

Came here for Restaurant Week had a good experience overall. The items we ordered off of the regular menu were perfect. The items I got from restaurant week menu we're good but could have been a little better.
The restaurant Week offering for baked clams were the size of a quarter. Definitely not worth it.
I ordered medium well steak but definitely got a medium. The service could have been better for example we arrived hungry and waited a very long time to get bread and then our appetizers came at the same time making the bread pointless.

Steak was good chicken didn't really have flavor but the skin was cooked to perfection. The brownie desert was the smallest I've ever seen. Waiter was great bathroom was clean.
