NOT Nostalgia - NOT Retro - THIS is Real-Old-School - - - It took me home.
I had their Original French Toast with Sausages and Coffee. Then I finished with a hand-made, at-the-fountain Cherry Lime Rickey. Everything was excellent and I left completely satiated.
On the way out I hit the Candy Counter and got Ol' Fashioned rolls of Lifesavers and a pack of Chuckles.
I will be back ! ! !

I wanted to love this place. I mean, look how cute it is!! But it loses all of its charm when you realize that two eggs and some bacon costs $15, three very plain pancakes cost $17, your waitress never brings you your water, and then when you ask to pay your bill, the man behind the counter rolls his eyes and yanks your debit card out of your hand. Oh, and the tips are cash only, which he will make very clear.

I’m really not a harsh critic, this was just such a letdown that I wanted to share with the class.

I didn't eat or drink anything here I basically just checked it out because it was a movie location used in the film three days of the Condor with Robert Redford. Still looks the same from the outside. It was fun to see it.

Authentic candy shop with lots of great traditional options! A bit pricey, but it’s understandable for the area and ability to preserve such a classic experience. The Chocolate Coca Cola was really good! I also ordered oatmeal which was a bit bland. Overall, shop is decorated very nicely and employees were so sweet!!

NOT A CANDY SHOP! We went here thinking it would be a Willy Wonka-type place and it's not at all... it's a little diner.. but this is not a bad thing. The food is WONDERFUL and the service is top notch. I recommend a float or milkshake of some kind as they're delish.. I ordered a Cherry Pepsi and it was real Cherry Pepsi... best I've had EVER! It's not the cheapest place to eat, but you certainly get what you pay for. In service, food taste, quality and speed! I recommend highly... still not a candy shop...but will be returning soon nonetheless!

Old school very small diner that makes good looking food, super fast. I heard the milkshake was the thing to order here but i wasnt in the mood this time. French toast was better than the pancakes but both were pretty good. Probably $2-4 more expensive per item than most other places but nyc diners thats kinda par for the course. Not somewhere ill go by myself but with a group or a special occasion this is a good spot to show off UES living. Which is weird bc you wouldnt think of a diner that way but i think the legacy, location, and price make this more of a treat than a regular go to.

I loved Lexington Candy Shop! Outstanding service and friendly atmosphere. Food was delicious and we felt appreciated. Both the original French toast and strawberry pancakes were cooked just right and I wouldn't hesitate to order either again! Will definitely recommend to friends and be back next time we are in the city. Thank you so much!

YOU MUST GO HERE!! It’s a perfect place to stop to have a bacon egg and cheese and freshly squeezed orange juice right before going to the Met.

I was in awe in that I felt like I stepped back in time. The folks working were hospitable and seemed to have such a great time working with each other. I loved the vibe and the food was lovely. Will definitely be back again!

Taking a break after visiting a museum, and found this gem. Service was friendly and fast, food was good and fairly priced. My son raved about how fluffy his pancakes were, the fries were cooked well, and my salad was filling and delicious. Check it out!
