What a great place and so lovely to see a real place surviving while surrounded by so many gentrified and overpriced places! Lovely staff, food cooked behind the bar. Had cracking roasted baby pork with v tasty rice and beans. Husband tried the Dominican breakfast and loved it but said wld have preferred but less plantain and bit more of the excellent sausage. Dark modelo beer, v tasty and a raspberry Dominican soda. Good coffee. Vv reasonable. Go here!!

great lunch spot, glad they made it through the pandemic, not sure if it'll get busy like before, Friday's were always bustling

If you are searching out a quick and cheaper chew, this is the place to move.
Service is high-quality speedy, meals taste quite true (did stay in DR for 10+ years).
Pictured is bistec encebollado with white rice and crimson beans (which did no longer make the photo????) and "Espaguetis Dominicanos" $12.00 overall you cannot beat this in new york.

The food is good but your delivery service is bad. I’m only 5 blocks away. Twice I had my food delivered well over an hour later. The first time, it was the delivery guy split the food and then he went to the wrong address. Now today after I waited over twenty minutes standing in the cold I went inside waited then get a call saying the delivery guy was calling my number. How come the store was able to get through?? Anyway I wouldn’t be ordering from you any more.. too

I was excited to order from this spot as we don’t have many Spanish options in Chelsea. My daughter is 4 months pregnant and wanted mangú but I didn’t want to make it. We ordered 4 and the actual mangú wasn’t that bad but I was very lumpy sbd not smooth. The mock go was tasteless and very dry. First mofongo I eat without any garlic and taste in it. The chicken soup was good. The maduros were not fresh almost tasted like they were from the day before as we ordered at 10am on a Sunday.

I love this place. This is my go to for comfort food. Your plate will look like this after you're done feasting on this delicious food. Try the passion fruit juice! Also, vegetarian options like stewed eggplant is amazing. You can't go wrong with what you get here. Enjoy!

I am so happy to have found this restaurant this side of Manhattan! The food is delicious, well priced and doesn’t stay around for long...this restaurant is that busy. Don’t be dissuaded by its rustic uptown decor...let the food do the talking.
