Great ambience for Japanese tapas. The service is quick and friendly. Some dishes are good and some not so much. I’d recommend getting a few mains and more smaller plates to try more things on the menu. The mains’ portions are large.

Good food, nice ambiance and very affordable. What more could I say? I always come here when I'm craving chicken nanban. Visit during lunch hour and order from their lunch set menu, which is a steal for the price and amount of food they serve. It's also a great hangout place with a wide variety of foods. If you're ordering sushi roll, I recommend the soft shell crab roll.

Glad we found this place! We ordered a variety of raw and cooked dishes. Everything came out so quickly and was delicious, yellowtail carpaccio, OMU soba, and kimchi cream udon are our favorites. The price is very reasonable, great value!! The restaurant is underground and we missed it a few times walking by. We got there at 5 when they opened for dinner, waited in line and got seated right away, it filled up really quickly as soon as we sat down. Friendly and warm staff, and great service. Highly recommend!

Great food and ambiance. Servers rotate around tables so you always have someone to assist you. The noise level is VERY energetic so be prepared to speak ????. Make a reservation or you will be waiting for more than 40 minutes. We made a reservation and still had to wait 20 for a shared table.

Good variety of Japanese food in an underground spot that is always packed and lively. Expect to wait for a table, but food comes out quickly.
We had a variety of raw dishes, noodles and beef tongue. The spread was nice and all dishes had their own special appeal. Prices are very reasonable; a good value.

OMG! The food was mind blowing! It was extraordinary! Perfect ambience, speedy and friendly staff, i have no words to describe how delicious the food was! I’ll definitely come back on my next trip to NY! This was an experience and made my holiday!!!

Don't be put off by the door (hard to find between two restaurants) and the steps down to the basement this is a great place. Young staff, full of life, excellent food and well priced. Booking is highly recommended as it fills up quickly. We got the last walk in available on a Friday night. Note that for lunch the menu is much smaller than at dinner.

This was my second time dining here after 3 years. The restaurant has a hip feel that appeals to young people. It’s a basement and has low lighting so you experience an underground vibe. They play a lot of modern and hip hop and r&b and rap music - great for the young people. The sink facilities are like what you would expect from a sink underground. The food is very visually appealing but personally way too salty for me. They gave me free hot green tea. The service is sometimes good and sometimes not good. Because of my personal food preferences I would dine at places with lighter cuisine in the future instead, but this spot would appeal to many youth. (I also had a stomachache and food poisoning right afterwards. It may not be the restaurant’s fault, but I don’t know for sure.)

This izakaya is located in the basement so carefully look for their sign. This is a very busy place at night, plan ahead if you hope to have dinner. They have a illustrated menu and a good list of cocktail/sake (also illustrated) so great for drink lovers. Overall the tastes and menu selections are great, but not necessarily surprising. These are common courses that you can expect in a Japan restaurant -- or more accurately speaking, it is American-Japanese fusion rather than pure Japan. For travelers or people looking for a date dinner place, this is a safe choice that wouldn't let you disappoint.

Their food is so good. One of the most fresh fishes I had. Especially like the fat tuna. The restaurant is under ground floor in basement. The decorations are just so so. If you don’t want to order the lunch special, you should avoid to this place between 12 and 3 pm. They are too busy during that time frame so service is not that good. For example, it took more than 20 minutes to get my cheesecake. But I can understand that and will reduce the rating because of that. We are here for food so food is the most important thing.
