My first time to NYC and trying out the Mediterranean cuisine… ambience is great, service is warm and food is awesome. Love the salad and Turkish tea.

Beautiful presentation, excellent service. The appetizers were good, but on a smaller side. The garlic flatbread was just the right texture and delicious. The vegetarian moussaka was presented with a fire show and tasted better than I anticipated - very tender and flavorful. My husband loved the lamb. One star off for desserts - the baklava was dry, the donuts were ok, rice pudding was good, but not thick like you’d get in Turkey or Greece. Overall, it was a good dinner. We took friends visiting nyc out for dinner here and it delivered.

This was the best Mediterranean we’ve had in a long long time; maybe ever.

Top notch service, food that matches and sophisticated vibe. I truly enjoyed dining here and want to go back soon.

Fine dining Greek. The service is truly attentive and always present. The place exudes fancifulness (a bit over my preference). The food was all really well done. My favorites were the mezze and the dessert, perhaps going back to the root of how Greek food is often enjoyed. The whipped feta cheese was perhaps the most unique, at the same time the most delicate feta cheese I've had and the most flavorful whipped cheese. The eggplant (baba ganoush) had a slight citrusy flavor that complemented it really well. The pita bread unbelievably textured and fresh. Everything from the pastry cart was delicious, and the fried Greek doughnuts a treat, especially dipped in the tangy pomegranate molasses. The octopus was well cooked, but not above what I've had in many other Greek restaurants. The Aegean stew was too plain for me, and the lobster hard, as if overcooked.

I met my girl friends for Happy Hour drinks and we ended up staying to enjoy food. Beautiful space, delicous food, friendly staff. The restaurant filled up starting around 630p, with a resonable noise level. Lovely to see people out enjoying dinner. Iris is participating in Restaurant Week thru Feb. 11th, although pre-fix not available on the weekends. Definately will return.

Exceptional. Came here to take a break from my studies and it was just what we needed. Had they not participated in restaurant week, it would have taken awhile for me to reach this restaurant on my list and I am glad I ate here tonight. Everything from the service to dessert was great. The service was prompt and courteous, I appreciate all of the staff. The decor is dim, intimate and romantic. It can certainly be a great date night spot or a family dinner if Mediterranean is a favorite. There are certainly other spots in the vicinity that can be suitable substitutes if there is a wait. Definitely a solid option in the area and will be my go to Mediterranean place next time I’m around the area.

Elegant, good service, very fine Mediterranean inspired cuisine in a date night setting. Quiet and adult ambiance. Lots of mezzes and terrific mezze sampler platter, delicious fluke (fish) ceviche, tasty lamb flatbread, crisp pear salad with endive... Interesting menu of seafood and beef entrees but we filled up on the small plates and loved every one. A special treat is the variety of Greek wines on offer as well as a large, delicious selection of desserts. (Never too full to sample them.)

This was a beautiful place with very good Greek food.
The service was excellent. It was easy to find and reserve a table. The dining room was set nicely for
bigger dinner parties and there was a lovely lounge to
wait for your party to arrive. The only snag was the
ambient music was extremely loud making dinner
conversation with anyone but the person next to you
very difficult.

Highly recommend! This place deserves an extra star. The food and service were impeccable.

We ate a lot more than was pictured here. The cocktails were delicious and perfectly balanced. We started with the whipped feta and sourdough pita, which is an absolute must. (Think happy dance!) The fluke crudo was amazing, loved the pairing with lemon and hazelnuts. The absolute best lamb chops I’ve had in my life. The dessert was also incredible, the sundae and the chocolate are musts!

Fantastic newish restaurant in midtown from chef John Fraser. He’d previously headed up the kitchen at Narcissa (one of my favorite spots at the time), followed by Nix and now he’s also the head of F&B at The Public. We ordered a wide selection of dishes to try and also followed the recommendations of our server (Alyssa??sp). She was awesome and definitely dialed up the experience for us. Our favorite menu items included the Mezze Mix, the squash blossom flatbread!!!!, swordfish tartare, grilled octopus (good but not my fave). For entrees we had the scallops with shrimp, and the lamb chops which were top notch. For desserts we ordered mastic ice cream sundae (5 stars), the chocolate ganache and the rice pudding. I gave Iris 4 stars instead of 5 primarily bc it’s midtown and it’s a little corporate so I doubt it would become a destination restaurant for me but were I to be in midtown, this would be a top choice.
