The empanadas were decent. I had tried the pernil (slow roasted pork) and steak and cheese empanadas. I didn’t think either were that great. The pernil reminded me more of pulled pork rather than what I usually think of with super tender and juicy Puerto Rican style Pernil. The steak and cheese one I didn’t really like - the meat wasn’t tender and the cheese sauce tasted very basic to me. The people working there were very friendly.

This is my spot! I feel like their iconic, maybe to me!
What stands out are the corn shelled empanadas. They are among very few restaurants here in the city that offer it. In all 5 boroughs. I think I’ve found one food truck in Queens and another restaurant that was in Jersey.
I had the lunch special which was 2 empanadas with rice and beans. One empanada was ground beef and the other was the Viagra which is a shrimp empanada.
Both delicious with the green and red sauces.

The oxtail soup is the best and most authentic Colombian soup I've had in the US, their chimichurri is also good. Excelente el sancocho de rabo.

Clutch. I’ve never been her before and boy I was in for a delight. The variety of empanadas are awesome and it’s the perfect late night food. Would definitely come back

Cute place . Lots of selections. Table was sticky. Cheeseburger and Cuban empanadas were delicious. The nachos was ok. The pull pork was delicious but way to much bbq sauce. But they have so many other delicious stuff. Will definitely go again.

First time dropping in and noticed the huge assortment of empanadas available. The list is pretty long so you can spend a good amount of money trying out different flavors during your visit or multiple visits. Picked up 5 of them which where all very unique and flavorful. The best one I ordered was the one called viagra which came with shrimp and some other seasoning making it the perfect combination for a non meat empanada even after reheating at home. If they offered a bit of a combo deal when you ordered a group of empanadas that would help offset the cost.

Came here after hearing it being recommended by Monet X Change on her podcast. Was not disappointed at all. Everything was really good, each empanada stuffed full of filling, and everything was fresh. Place was cute and service fast.

We ordered the Viagra Empanada based on recommendations from staff. We were pleasantly surprised by how much filling was in the empanada. The pastry was also deep fried to perfection and not too thick. A flavor explosion of shrimp, scallops, and crab meat in your mouth!

Delicious empanada! The beef is great! The sizes are average but filling. Will recommend buying two or more if you want a full meal of empanadas.
The atmosphere is calm and spacious. The staff are great!

Went to empanada mama to check out the food.
The empanadas are delicious but I was misled about the lunch special. I was told with the purchase of two empanadas you get a side of rice and beans. I ordered two lunch specials with a total of 5 empanadas and ended up spending $32 (not including $4 tip). When I asked the manager about the rice and bean $8.50 additional charge he was not willing to give me a refund (as seen in the picture). I do NOT recommend this restaurant, spend your hard earned money somewhere else.
