Not fancy, but a good family establishment. If you want some fresh steamed crab or other seafood to go, they steam right on the spot, takes about ten minutes.
You're gonna get your food in a double sealed bag, with your crab in your choice of clarified butter and seasonings. Good, but mega messy, perfect for eating at home so long as you have the cracker tools. They supply a bib.
Personally, after my first round with the seasoned variety, I'll order plain and DIY it at home to make less mess. But yay, tasty.

Great Food. Don't let the simple appearance of this restaurant fool you. The food is fresh and well prepared. It gives the feeling of a seaside restaurant in the middle of Manhattan. The seafood baskets are especially satisfying. The coconut shrimp is among the best I ever had. Certainly worth a try.

It was really good and fresh, a bit salty but I love salt since I have low blood pressure, coming back this weekend cause my daughter loved it so much and it’s hard to get a toddler to eat! She downed all the shrimp from the bag while I killed the crab legs and lobster.

The place is pretty pricey.. But the meals that my daughter and I had were amazingly delicious, and the young lady who served us was extremely pleasant and kind. Will be going back to try other dishes that are in the menu. Definitely recommend Crab Du Jour on 1st Ave btwn east 13th & 14th street.

I like the ocean style decoration! The seafood there were so good, the garlic butter was awesome and I wanna try different flavor sauces cuz I don’t wanna miss any yummy food.

Last week I ordered for lunch a shrimp Po Boy sandwich and it was delicious. Today I ordered the fried oyster Po Boy sandwich and this one taste even better. Cajun fries have a nice kick.
