This is the place to have a fantastic meal and that is on point. Freddy and his team make you feel like you've been coming here all the time. Fine dining at its best. You can enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. Everything is delicious, in my family we share, from the starters to the dessert! So pleased I was able to take my family out for a wondeful meal. Oh did I mention the unique setting, you're dining in a former bank vault. It can be loud. Its worth every penny. Hate to say, this is throwback from which other establishments can learn. Its all about the customer experience. Will be happy to return when I need to splurge.

Positive: Steak is delicious, sides were amazing.

Negative: We waited at reception for 15 min , no-one have acknowledge us . When manager came over , he just said quote: We are busy . No apologies no complimentary drink or dessert. He sat is down , no menu we waited other 10 minutes to get them.

Service is good but do not expect a lot .
we order espresso martini , it was average.

Plus service change automatically add without asking or mentioned on menu . I think it should be up to me ,but ok . we paid all , but probably wont return.

Overall: I think you can find better places in NYC .

Hidden gem. If you don't know where it is you will miss it . Downstairs in an old bank vault. Food was good. Crabcake, creme spinach, mashed potatoes and new york strip steak. Steak wasn't as tender as I would like buy great flavor.

This was a really nice restaurant, and a great experience. The resturant was tucked away downstairs in the New Yorker Hotel. It had a very cool speakeasy vibe, and a little adventure to find it. The staff were incredible and made it a very special evening. The cocktails were very good, and came out quickly. We also really enjoyed the food (porterhouse for 2). We were there early on a Tuesday evening before a show, so it was not very busy, and that may be why the service was so good. I don't really have anything negative to say about the place. If you are visiting New York and are looking for a cool place with good food and great service I would give this a try. There are more famous steakhouses in midtown in this price range, but this is a novel spot with a cool vibe and you won't have to eat in a shed on the street.

This place is cool. I came here for dinner. It’s in the lobby of a hotel and you have to go down two flights of stairs or the elevator to access the place. It is the vault of an old bank.

They kept all the trimmings of the bank in place they have the vault lock door as well as all the lockers as decor.

There are about 20 tables mostly made for 2 to 4 people, with a couple of larger tables for larger parties. I highly recommend trying the steak here, it’s outstanding.

this is an old-school white tablecloth kind of place. Service is good - everyone was helpful and accommodating. The portions are on the larger side so order with that in mind. order. I highly recommend the chocolate cake when you come here

The place is really amazing and the food excellent. The restaurant is located in a former bank vault, in the underground of the New Yorker Hotel, and it is beautiful. We are meat, a 12-hour cooked ribeye and a hangar steak, and they were delicious, perfectly cooked and prepared. The service was exceptional, our waitress careful and happy to advise. A unique experience close to Penn Station (entrance through the hotel, not really visible from the street).

This place is wonderful and the food is amazing, but the highlight of the night was the service. Yelena (hope I am spelling correctly) is an incredible server and made our dining experience absolutely delightful. I highly recommend coming here! The filet mignon was great, the poke tower (pictured) was lovely, and the drinks were perfect!

Lets start with the food, the salmon poke tower had some of the freshest salmon Ive ever had, it was delicious. Scallops were good and the hanger steak was top notch. The service was also good, no complaints. The vibe was a bit more stuffy than I imagined but maybe the slightly dated interior is a part of the overall historic experience. And yes, the bank vault door is just as cool in person.

I Came here for my 31st birthday din and I was so happy with how perfect everything was cook. Eating inside the vault was a very cool experience. This isn’t a fake vault it’s the real deal people. For the first time ever I ordered a tomahawk steak and it did not disappoint. Perfectly medium rare. The steak is for 2 but it’s huge and very difficult to finish.
