Insanely Good. Best sushi in the neighborhood for sure. Delicious Gyoza, the uni salmon roe nigiri was insane, as well as the lobster sushi rolls. The chicken and shrimp skewers are also great

Found a review that said this was the best sushi in Chicago for its price. We decided to go, and (I know my experience of sushi has been limited to gorging myself on it from Eastern Wisconsin, but) this was the best sushi I've ever had in my life. The tuna I had was so fresh it melted in my mouth.
Also my friend with us has celiacs, and the kitchen was able to take a note and prepare her entire meal with gluten free recipes. My friend ordered the same roll as me, but mine came with fried ingredients while hers didn't. That was great.

Excellent fresh fish prepared as either sushi or sashimi, some fish flown in from Japan. Great ambiance and service. Worth every penny!

Hands down best sushi in the area. Seriously, it’s good EVERY time and the prices are not outrageous for the quality. Best roll: Crazy Dragon Roll. Nigiri is all great. The best!

Great sushi spot! We sat outside and the people watching alone was worth it.
They made great rolls and the BYOB is perfect. Appetizers were very small so I'd say you should skip that and just get sushi.

As much as I love their food, the customer service was horrible. At first they canceled our reservation 18 hrs before it. I understand everything happens but why not to offer something complementary?!
Then I visited them another time and the only seating they could offer for a single visitor was their “bar” with 6 seats, the hostess kept telling me 5 more minutes until I waited for almost an hour. People who came in couples after were seated almost right away or with a slight wait.
The manager of the restaurant never approached me even though I asked for it

Great food, service was good not great. BYOB, reasonable prices. Would definitely go again and prefer over most spots in lake view

Yellowtail is what happens when a restaurant focuses more on their appearance than on their food. Any sushi lover knows the best marker for the skill of the chef is the quality of the sushi rice… let’s just say Yellowtail misses that mark. Their chicken teriyaki tastes and looks like it’s off the miscellaneous section of a Chinese menu. Do yourself a favor and walk a block south to Sumo Sushi for a higher quality, more affordable meal.

Yellowtail is the best sushi in Lakeview! I said it cause it’s true, their menu is expansive and delivers on all fronts! Try and get a spot in the summer when they have outdoor seating, though the vibes inside are great too!

This sushi literally saved my life. I went here on July 3rd 2021 and was so dehydrated I felt like I was going to be sick and pass out. The wait staff was extremely attentive, served us quickly, got my blood sugar back up and made sure my water was always full. Best sushi of my life. I thought that might have been a one time affair, but nope. I came here April 28th 2022 and it was so amazing again. It wasn’t my delirium that made me think it was an amazing time, it simply was well made, well educated food. Jiro would dream of this sushi.

The sushi is really good. I went here a few times and the prices are fair since you get some good quality sushi. However the most recent time I ordered takeout, I noticed a piece of lobster shell in 2 of my sushi rolls. Thankfully I noticed it after fully chewing the roll but no big deal, stuff happens. Then I had another piece of my sushi with some glass or some sort of transparent plastic in it and the same for the piece after that. That was the last straw but I didnt want to leave a bad review prior to letting the restaurant manager know. I emailed them, followed up with management, but no response. I really liked this place but after that incident and the management team not responding, I wanted to let people know. Be careful getting sushi from here

Great sushi and beyond. Love the decoration and how clean the space is. We had a few sushi rolls and 3 of their different miso soups. All food was fresh and delicious. Service is attentive, fast and reliable. The sushi did take longer than expected to come out, maybe it’s because it is made fresh and the restaurant was busy or maybe there was not enough staff as things and places start to run at full capacity after COVID. Overall a lovely experience, definitely recommend to try it.

???????????? Situated on a lively street in Lakeview, Yellowtail serves fresh sushi in a cozy, inviting, albeit a little loud atmosphere. While creative rolls like the Green Turtle Maki are yum, we didn’t enjoy their appetizers much. Takoyaki was a bit soggy and the miso soup didn’t quite hit the mark, probably because of a super busy day. Service however was top notch and we had a good time overall.

This place’s sushi is delicious. Their rolls and poke bowls are supper yummy. Their fish is fresh. I often see lines at their restaurant but they able to maintain safety measures. I took away one star because their to go orders may take awhile. I have ordered through grub hub multiple times. My order will say it’s ready for pick up but it’s not at the restaurant.

Great neighborhood sushi place with top quality fresh fish and creative rolls. They have a dog-friendly outdoor area during warm months. BYOB.
