Caribbean Family owned bbq joint, hot links, turkey tips and rib tips were definitely the things to have. The rib tips were very much like full ribs and the sauce was spicy and sweet. I would almost say get the sauce on the side if you can’t take too much heat or eat the bread provided. But if you get the sauce on the side then you miss out on getting the sauce soaked fries at the bottom of the tray…don’t miss those. The sides of coleslaw were small but definitely a treat if you grab it. Cash only no debit situation.

If you want good BBQ THIS IS IT! No call in orders or use if fancy technology here. Just good ole fashion smoked to perfection barbecue. Definitely my favorite in all of the city. We eat here at least once a week. Be sure to order your food but be specific how you want it. I usually get the rib tips and link combo, fries on top and baptized in that amazing home made bbq sauce. Great food good music amazing people. They don’t serve beverages so while you wait head across the store to the black dollar market. But the time you come back your order should be ready. This place is a staple in the community and in my diet. I highly recommend!

I paid $22 for jumbo riptip I'm about riptide ate 3 of them and got sick had the runs for 2 full days Used to be my favorite place for ribs next to lem's but now I'll never go there again I would have saved the ribs to take them back But I just said forget it
no more of my business I was really disappointed.

I read the reviews and was told they had the best..but i disagree. They take forever to make the food...well the sauce sucked also..the food is best with sauce on side...good black owned business overall Especially the handmade hotlinks

We were visiting from CA and was told to go to Uncle J's BBQ. I'm glad we listened. Those rib tips, chicken and links were "IT". It was delicious. They give you ALOT OF FOOD and the prices were very reasonable.The sauce was good. We were licking our fingers all the way back to LA. The owner hooked us up. He was very friendly and very welcoming..Next time I'm in the Chi, I will be back. Cash only. ????????

I had been craving rib tips all week and decided to pop into this bar be que joint, which is not to far from the soup and salad place that I love. They did not disappoint!!! I ordered the small tip because they only take CASH and I had to look around in my car to find some. I like how they slice the tips nice and thin. They were juicy and tender. I ordered mine with sauce on the side. Their sauce is giving me a Caribbean mole consistency, it is really rich and good. I believe that I met he owner yesterday. He is really cool and funny. Try it out and bring your appetite and please remember that they only take CASH, CASH, CASH

This was my first visit, the wait wasn’t long and omg the food was delicious! The turkey tips were very good! I’ll definitely eat here again! This being my 1st time the guy was patient with me while I took my time to decide, overall this is def a place to visit????

DELICIOUS food, very nice ppl, decent prices, Huge portions did I mention very delicious bbq. I had to go in the corner store & liquor store across the street everyone in the neighborhood was very nice to me. I definitely recommend Uncle J's & I'll definitely be back for more chicken & tips????????????

Was riding down 47th on my way to Yassa & was pulled in by the yummy smell from the smoke so my guy told me to try it.. let’s just say, that’s the best thing he told me to do today Lol the service was great & the food was amazing. I got the #7. Medium tip w/2 hot links & was given 3 hot links instead ☺️ Ribs were nice & tender. The sauce was thick, sweet & hot (kinda like me) Lmao but if you’re looking for some great bbq this is the place to go for sure! Oh, the wait wasn’t bad neither & bring cash, for it is a cash only spot. Enjoy!

Great and juicy Rib tips. Hot links were okay (slightly over cooked). Serving size is enough for two meals. Tip: Eat food as soon as possible or poke a hole in the container to let the steam out. Get spicy sauce on the side.

All it took was one try????. Nice serving size, tasted fresh, the mixed sauce was perfect, the hot links were good, the rib tips tasty, even the bread was good. Great customer service, kind cashier. When I am craving bbq, if I don't make my own- this is where I'm going. KUDOS yall ????????

Had a great experience at Uncle J’s BBQ even though all I had were the french fries. My friend had the rib tips and barbecued chicken and she loved the sauce.
The thing that did it for me was the customer service and my quickness in which my order was done. I will be returning to this establishment in near future.

This place deserves 20 stars, but the varied hours and ordering logistics hurts this place. The old faithful CASH ONLY locals spot serves THE BEST RIB TIPS I’ve had all around. The bbq sauce is thick and sweet. The fries are an afterthought. You tell them fried hard, they don’t. It’s soggy all at the bottom of the ribs. And that’s without the sauce.
But honestly I don’t care, because the rib tips are that good. But if I didn’t live a few blocks away, I would have stop patronizing. Third party food delivery varies. But again, the food is worth it.
Menu prices went up on small tip $1.50 in 3 months….

I was very happy with a slab of ribs. Their hot sauce is no joke, it definitely has some fire. Guy behind the counter was so nice. It’s a small inside place, but you order and wait outside. There is so much smoke coming out of this building, completely filling the intersection outside. So wonderful. A great experience.
