I had probably the most disgusting horchata I’ve ever tasted in my life. I’ve been to many Mexican spots and had more horchatas than you can imagine, but this was different. It had a weird taste and I just couldn’t drink it anymore after 2 sips. I watch some TV and turn around and this is what it looked like. I’ve had horchata for days after and it still tasted great. I don’t know what this is but I’ll never go back.

Restaurant needs to be deep cleaned. Went to pick up some food and saw a cockroach crawling on the wall in the bar section. In addition, our horchata tasted like the worst one we’ve EVER had. The restaurant is good, but our drink literally could’ve caused us food poisoning. Watch out.

Ewwww the plantains are not what you can call to tostones because tostones don't really taste nothing like what they make there.. so they should call ot something els. The puertorican rice is not authentic and taste nothing like puertorican arroz con gandules. Not sure about anything else but a jibarito is not freaking good with a close to ripen plantain.. so idk why they stedy trying to make foods they can't perfect like why would I pay 15 $ for food that is fried in old oil ???? and taste nothing like it should. Not for me I won't be going there anymore. I'd rather make my own puertorican food and even tiktok got some recipes that taste better than what they serve at south of the border on morse.. no cap...

I used to love this place and haven't visited in a while because I moved. Unfortunately it has gone downhill. I placed my order today and got something completely different. When the waiter went to talk to the cook the cook just didn't want to make the food that was ordered so they told me I had to order something else. I won't be back. I used to spend $150 just for myself once a month at this place. Get better service. Get a better cook! Get a better waiter! There is no reason why I had to find out I couldn't get my order right away instead of finding out when the food is out for the entire table. Terrible service! I would not recommend this to anyone!

The food was amazing!!! Had the enchiladas and they were some of the best I’ve ever had. Loved the plantain Maduros. Service felt like they put a lot of focus on others but barely any on us. Still would go again!

Hidden gem in Rogers Park right off the Morse redline stop! I’ve had a lot of Mexican food on the north side, and this is where you Can get the best! Very kind servers. I’ve been here several times and the service is always great. Dog friend patio!

I had the Cajun pasta. The serving was a lot. I went home with leftovers. The pasta was pretty good. The flavors were there, but the sauce was very rich. The customer service was great. I will definitely come back.

Open late great. They forgot our rice and beans in the $15 taco dinner. So that's 3 tacos for $15. Almost $10 for small guacamole... probably not a whole avocado worth of guacamole. It's good though.

Friendly staff and good service. Came late night and ordered a jibarito + horchata. The horchata was bland, and the jibarito is under-seasoned. But as you see the serving size is not bad. Good for the price tho

I have nothing but praises for this restaurant.

We walked in and noticed the restaurant was empty but the atmosphere was nice. Clean tables, hand sanitizers, fresh flowers, salt&pepper on every table.

Sat down and we were served by Jesus who were very friendly and attentive to our needs. He served free chips with pinto beans and hot sauce on the side. It was delish we had to get another serving of it.

Then the music in the background wasn’t bad and not too loud. Just right.

Jesus gave us our order which was the skirt steak. It was delicious. I ordered mine Medium and was cooked perfectly. It came with rice, guacamole, pinto beans, corned tortilla, and a cheese roll (idk what it was called). I made tacos with my food and it was delicious.

Overall, i would come back to this place and recommend this place :)
