Went here with friends, ordered everything on the menu, and was blown away by the quality of the food and wine pairings. Great place for a date, or to reconnect with friends. Highly recommend

We specifically drove to the restaurant to enjoy mussels night. Since we traveled just short of an hour and a half to get there, we decided to try a little bit of everything that was available. We started with the gem salad which was extremely fresh and nicely dressed with a champagne vinaigrette. After sharing our greens, we moved on to the mussels. That's why we made the journey here.

It's possible to order two variations of mussels so of course we did. Rouge features tomato, paprika, garlic and parsley. Very nice flavored broth. The marinière was flavored with white wine, saffron, fennel and herbs. This was hands down the favorite between the two of us. The broth was just YUM, and there were generous amounts of fennel to load up on your toasted bread after you dipped it. The mussels are served with an order of fries cooked perfectly. I love when there's little crannies in your fries where the oil creeps in and crunches up the inside and these delivered! Who doesn't love a French fry with a surprise inside here and there?

There were two desserts featured And we tried both. The macaron glacé was stuffed with an apricot sherbet and had a Michigan tart cherry reduction on the side. The survey was so tasty. I could have eaten it alone. The second dessert was the Riz au Lait. This was a rice pudding featuring peaches and plums. It was sweet, creamy and tart.

Our service was excellent and we had the pleasure of meeting some of the kitchen Maestro's. Talking with them it was obvious that they take their food very seriously and there's a lot of passion and love in the dishes that they fed us. If you get a chance to go, don't forget to let them know how much you enjoyed it.

The restaurant is rather unique in the layout. Everyone inside is basically seated at a chef's table. It's very intimate and relaxing. It makes you feel pampered and a little spoiled seeing everything that's going on with the preparation of your meal. They do have outdoor seating as well. Charming little tables where you can watch the activity in the neighborhood.

Parking was not an issue our dinner Reservation was at 7:30 in the evening. The neighborhood was inviting. I would love to go back and explore some more of the main street we parked on.

We had a great time and talked about coming back on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday to try out the full menu. Would I drive an hour and a half again to have muscles? You bet I would!

A quaint neighborhood restaurant spot. The staff was very pleasant from start to finish. We ordered a bottle of Sancerre, which was excellent. For starters we ordered the cheese board. The caramelized apple butter was divine, but I was hoping they were going to provide at least a small sample of their homemade bread, but instead it was served with sourdough crackers.

For the main course we ordered Ris de Veau & Quenelles de Brandade. Although both were pleasant, we enjoyed the ris de veau the most. I was hoping given the price they would have provided a little larger portions for the main course. For the ris de veau they treated the asparagus more as a garnish, vs. a compliment to the main course.

Finally for dessert we ordered the rhubarb bombe glace. This was our favorite part of the meal. Very delicate, and not overly sweet and the rhubarb provided a nice tart taste to combat the sweetness of the yogurt.

Overall, the meal was great, but not excellent. We were expecting the "wow" factor to come in at some point in our entrees, but it just came short of the flair.

They rotate their menu based on seasonality and we are excited to check it out again when new items are added to the menu.

The crudo and the foie gras brioche were both so incredibly delicious and amazing. We initially only intended on having the two starters then leaving, but we were so impressed that we decided to stay and try an entree though initially none of the entrees stuck out to us to try.

Eventually we decided on the cod, but we honestly did not enjoy the dish. It felt like it was well crafted, just not to our taste.

It's difficult to rate this because we really enjoyed our experience otherwise and would hate to knock a star based on what might be incompatibility. Definitely the starters alone are worth the trip if you're in the area.

The atmosphere and service was very good, but surprisingly found the menu to be a little underwhelming and lacking diversity.

There are really only three appetizers. Bread, olives, or nuts are more snacks. The ham is just ham. And the foie gras and crudo are really the only ‘traditional’ starters.

I’ve heard wonderful things, and after realizing that we started with bread and the Bayonne ham (ham was good, but simple and same for the bread), I couldn’t get the Croque Madame (ham and bread again). We shared a salad so getting the duck confit (which they didn’t have that night it was duck breast) on salad would be too similar. So we got the steak frites and the fish. The fish was nice but the olives with the fennel wasn’t extremely pleasant. Steak frites is steak frites. It was well cooked but it’s a dish that usually (and as it did here) lacks panache. As the most expensive menu items (about $50) from a celebrated French restaurant I expect a little bit more. The garlic with the frites was also too strong.

Overall, it was good, just not great. When you have a high end menu with a small selection of dishes, there should be more interchangeability with choices. The menu items tonight were simple and very similar. We didn’t order the foie gras or the crudo, but the table next to us did. The foie is served on a single piece of toast (again meat on bread) and the crudo looked nice but very small (and again reminiscent of the other fish on the menu).

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but at these prices maybe a little more flare? Perhaps I should try it on one of their specialty menu nights.

We tried Robert et Fils for the first time last weekend and had a fantastic experience!

First, the service was great. Our server Carlos explained the menu in detail and did a great job guiding us - we ordered just enough food so we were full, but not stuffed!

Second, the food was delicious! We started with the crudo (beautiful flavors) and then had the Bayonne ham with the bread & salad. We split the steak frites and couldn't get over how delicious the steak was with the foie butter. We ordered the cheese plate for dessert - the perfect way to end the meal. It's also BYOB, so it was fun to bring some nice wine from home to pair with dinner.

We're planning to go back soon to try the other dishes!

This bistro is special. You feel like you’re sitting in a casual and chic supper club with absolutely superb French cuisine. The eclectic, acutely-shaped dining room comfortably seats about 20 people. The staff is super cool as well. A++

The foie gras was an incredible delight served on an ample slice of toasted brioche.

The Steak frites was of high quality and the frites double fried and perfectly crunchy.

The duck salad could've used more duck, but the greens were an interesting mix of root vegetables and a duck fat vinaigrette.

Manhattan up were made perfectly.

Desert fell short. Chocolate with buttermilk topping and ???? cherry was heavy on buttermilk and low on chocolate. More chocolate please.

Only real downside here is the price. I know, everything is expensive. However, even without the bottle of wine you're looking at $220 for two people. Not a place we can come regularly, unfortunately.

The ambiance was lovely though and service was impeccable.

I’m not easily impressed, but Robeet et Fils is amazing! The food is expertly prepared, the service is discreet and the wine list is superb. Transported me to a dimly lit street in Paris concealing a wonderful surprise.

Wow, Robert et Fils is top notch delightful. They have a great reservation system, upon arrival they took our jackets and we sat down immediately. The ambiance is really cozy, with dark walls, and grime rap music playing at a none-offensive level which surprised me by how much I liked it playing in the background. The service is extraordinary: very attentive without being annoying, knowledgeable and excited in the dishes, while being respectful asking for any dietary restrictions. The cocktails are humorously name and tasty, and while we did not enjoy any wine, the selection and options looked good. Every little bit of food we enjoyed was high quality, the cheese board was funky, unique, and sharp, the bread and butter was memorable, the entrees were cooked perfectly, the dessert was delicate and delicious, and the espresso was great to close the night with. Great portions, this is a place to indulge in all the courses. This place has moved to one of my favorites in the city, the size is charming and everything (even the bathroom soap) is quality.

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! This review is long overdue. We ordered one of their prix fixe menus for pickup back in May before they opened for dine-in and it was absolutely delicious! The dessert was so lovely that I ended up going back to see if they could make full size desserts for an upcoming anniversary party. The entire staff was so kind and the talented pastry chef was able to prepare two beautiful cakes (blueberry yogurt mousse and chocolate mousse). Can't wait to check out their Thursday Moules Frites Night!
