If you want to close out summer on a high note, this is one of the places to do it in. Great pizza, cocktails, and view of the Chicago river from the patio, Pizzeria Portofino is the whole package! We loved the summer vibes almost as much as we loved their charred pepperoni and their king crab and corn pizzas. The flavors for both were outstanding, each being unique from the other. The pepperoni came with honey on the side that added another layor of flavoring, and even though it felt unorthodox adding touches of honey to pepperoni, it worked wonderfully! As for the crab and corn, with a squeeze of lemon juice on top, this pizza tasted refreshing and light, the antithesis of what is expected from pizza. We cannot recommend this spot enough, as it's worth the visit. Get a spritz, take a sip, and enjoy the weather while it lasts!

Took my mother here for her birthday and it brought her to tears. Dining here felt like a slice of the Amalfi Coast brought to the Chicago Riverwalk. Service here is impeccable, as is the food (perfect portions, btw). I highly recommend a 6:30 dinner reservation so you can get there when the sun is still out and watch the sunset while dining before taking a walk down the riverwalk afterwards, with the city lights and the night sky.

Ok if you are looking to be transported to Amalfi come to this amazing place in the Summertime!!! The food was so authentic I mean they even had stuffed squash blossoms which we enjoyed everyday while in Italy and they were sooooooooooo delicious! We also ordered rigatoni vodka with whipped burrata and Calabrian chilis which melts in your mouth. The Margherita pizza truly and immediately gave you a deja Vu feeling.. Bon Giorno I'm in Italy!! We sat inside due to the time crunch but the view of the river when you sit outside is outstanding on a beautiful Chicago Summer day. This is truly a MUST experience!!!

The best cauliflower pizza crust I’ve ever had. Even thought the restaurant was packed, service and food were spotless. Produce were very fresh.

From the minute my mum and I walked in, it was amazing! The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is great and our waiter was from Dublin which is cool cause my parents are from Liverpool, England. If you haven’t been here I highly recommend you come. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent food, helpful staff, lively environment. 5 o'clock on a Friday doesn't sound like a time you'd think a downtown Chicago restaurant would be slammed, but this was a destination spot. Inside or out on the patio you have a great view of the river and a sense of being connected to the river vibe. The menu is definitely a chic Mediterranean, but there's flavor and substance to match up with the style. Would recommend.

The location cannot be beat — it costs $10 extra to sit near the water though (well worth it). Surprisingly the ambiance and decoration was even nicer than RPM Seafood right upstairs.
The food was pretty good and vegetarian friendly — we had the mushroom truffle pizza which I liked. Overall I’d recommend for a non offensive Italian dinner if you want a great ambiance.

Love this spot! I think ordering a pizza, Aperol spritz, and the rigatoni pasta is a recipe for a great experience here. Great vibes and atmosphere, staff is friendly, food is great!

My favorite Italian spot in Chicago. Their food is extremely delicious. The place itself is amazing and the staffs are nice and friendly. I’ve been there twice this week. Everything exceeds my expectations.

Absolutely fantastic location, right on the water's edge of Chicago River looking across to the River walk. Went for an early dinner on our last day in Chicago and had reserved a table the night before on the balcony. Although they charge $11 for the table which doesn't come off the bill, it was worth it. The pizza was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Service was standard and on power with what you would expect. Would recommend

We were greeted by Emily after coming down the stairs at the water's edge. She found us a wonderful table and checked on ys later. We started with fried squash blossoms, delicate and cheesy. Then the grilled octopus in a lemon sauce, nicely cooked. Of course Pizza, thin foldable crust with crab and asparagus with a buttery alfredo, with a chewy crust. Finished off with a delicious teramisu. Bailey was our server, very personable and kept our glasses full.

After a few times trying to get a table, finally, we can be available to try this restaurant, it is your first time or wanna go to this restaurant we recommend making a prior reservation.
The place is so charming and the view amazing (near to the river). The food is so tasty we love our pizzas ( you can order gluten-free); the beverages and dessert were a perfect balance with our foods.
The customer service was fantastic our server was so kind, friendly, and always around which was incredible because the place was crowded.
We enjoy so much our time in the pizzeria Portofino, hoping to come back soon.

La decoración nos encanto, la vista a el lago, el servicio al cliente y la comida superaron nuestras expectativas. Puedes pedir la pizza libre de gluten. Los postres son deliciosos.

Pleasantly surprised, the thin-crust Italian style pizzas were delicious, and salads were great too. We loved the layout and getting to sit along the river - not only was it covered but also and protected and heated just a little bit for our “cool” spring lunch. I’ll definitely head back, didn’t realize it was Lettuce Entertain You - nice work.

Tartare and fries were good appetizers. The pizza is good wood fire style, nothing to rave about. The cocktails and appetizers were the highlight of the meal for me. The server was very friendly. There are a ton of employees there, all over. The location on the river is great. The enclosed outside area is warm for winter.

Took my significant other here on Sunday the 13th to celebrate an early Valentines day and it was delicious. To start off, the Truffle fondue was so flavorful. The pasta with vodka sauce was so creamy and smooth, especially with the burrata and the basil made it light and tasty. The Fresca pizza was amazing. It was light and refreshing and the crust was crispy to my liking. The entire meal was amazing. To top it all off, the view was gorgeous! I highly recommend this place. It was a night to remember.

Delightful, vegetarian friendly menu with gorgeous riverwalk views. A bit loud and boisterous on Friday for date night, but an all around cozy atmosphere. Great service! Highly recommend one of the black truffle menu items ????

Romantic and classy restaurant. The service is great, the staff is friendly and nice. The food is served real quick and in terms of quality and taste, I was really satisfied.
If you are looking for a romantic and elegant restaurant, this is the place. It has a great view, nice interiors and relaxing enviroment. It can get a little packed, though. But doesn't affect its "aesthetic" style.
Defenitely coming back.

Being an obsessed fries fanatic, I honestly just went here to try out their Parmesan Fries. I asked for them extra crispy as I always do with all my fries but they came soggy so I had to send them back. The second time they arrived, the crispness was perfect. Taste-wise- I didn’t see anything special. I would’ve preferred a seasoned taste but it just tasted a little bland like it was missing a key ingredient. The views were one of a kind though!
