Very good sause a little spicy so if you don't like spicy food ask them to put it on the side

Got the full slab of ribs. They were tongue pickle-ingly salty, the meat was so tough that they needed an extra hour in the oven to be palatable, and there was a stingy amount of bbq sauce that it was hardly noticeable. Incredibly disappointing.

Well my cousin told me about this place so I stopped in today and let me say I definitely wasn’t impressed I should have known something when I pulled up and didn’t see smoke or even smell it inside the place I won’t be going back I’m not a fan of broiled rib tips!!!! And very over priced the fries don’t come with a bucket of tips

Went to this place for the very first time to see what all of the hype was about. I'm very disappointed in the barbecue ( all of it). First of all anytime you pull up to a barbecue restaurant and you don't see that smoke and smell the charcoals in the air then there's a concern. The place smells like nothing is cooking, you can barely smell anything even while standing in the ordering window. The meat is tender but tastes like liquid smoke was added before cooking. You don't taste any flavor of charcoal and for me that's a complete disappointment. I recommend Alice's Ribs located in the opposite direction on 43 but it's on Michigan. They cook all of the ribs, chicken and turkey legs on the charcoal grill and it's good. I give honeys a one ⭐. I will not be going back again because I'm not spending money to eat liquid smoke. I suggest going elsewhere if you are looking for some real good eating.

Food was phenomenal. I got the rib tips and sausage combo and they were juicy and tender. The tips had a nice crust on them. My wife was a little bummed because they were out of catfish, but she did like the perch. The fried okra was perfectly battered and crispy. I would have like some salt on the fries and okra but that is barely worth noting. If you are looking for good BBQ in the area, this is definitely one of the best places.

1st weekend of June I was in
Hyde Park
( for the legendary 57th Street Art Fair) and since I was close by,
dropped in, for my favorite
Rib-Tip/Hot-Link> Sauce-on-the-side > Super-Crispy-Fries-please
Combo!
A customer was waiting to pick-up
her order, when she asked me,
“Was this place any good?”
Well- I replied, “I’ve been goin’
since they were on The Far West Side, then up
In Bucktown(on The North Side)
and I’ve been faithfully comin’ down
South
for their HICKORY WOOD SMOKED Piggy”
….and before I could finish describing how much I liked Honey1- she finished my long sentence by saying-
“Well- I guess they MUST BE good”, “ you’ve been following them all those years”!

Honey 1 BBQ is good, but not great. I like the hot links, but you don't get the WHOLE link. They cut it in half, and say it's one. Barbecue is expensive. Stop lying guys. Also, if you purchase rib tips with hot links, they cut up the link. WHY? Makes no sense to me. I like the rib tips. The hot link sandwich is a winner too. It's pricey, but try out Honey 1 Barbecue. I hope you'll like them.

The rib tips was very tender, juicy and fresh, the bbq sauce is on point not too sweet. You could give a little more sauce. Overall great customer service. I will return!

First of all you need to cook your Rib tips so they R done & not pink & give more food in a small order now with that said I will go back to eating at Lems they give more food for the price & the ribs taste better.

Tender delicious ribs the sauce was okay it could have been a little bit tastier but it was all right but the ribs that were the star definitely cannot wait to go back oh and the baked beans were also delicious very and the potato salad it was pretty good too and bring cash because they only accept cash

On the hunt to find better than mediocre bbq. I stumbled across Honey 1bbq. I was delightfully surprised, the gentleman on the phone had above average customer service skills. So placed an order for a small bucket of tips. I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with fries but ok, small link and a pan of fries. Slightly annoyed with the fries, not enough sauce but, they were hot and tasty.
The links have a classic taste, absolutely "DELISH" The sauce was great.. sweet tangy not over powering at I was plesantly pleased with the sauce. The Rib Tips were great, the seasoning and sauce melded perfectly together, I was absolutely amazed by how good the tips were(well seasoned)Arrived became even more delighted the service faster average. Keep up the great work!! See You Guys next week!
