This was delicious food, hands down. Got two tacos, one chicken, one burnt ends. Awesome mix of MexBBQ for sure. Sides of gruyere mac-n-cheese and brisket beans were just what the doctor ordered. Headed for a nap now.

My boss took me here on my first day to work and I was curious if it tasted as good as the first time I tried it and it was! Whenever I work downtown Chicago, this is one of the few places I choose to spend my money on. Your mouth will be happy if you decide to eat here.

My preference is the pulled pork with the Alabama sauce; the brisket is a good choice too.

I got off the orange line at Quincy - headed to the Skydeck. Looking for something to eat. The first thing I noticed, the sign had limited hours 11-3. Once inside the menu is on two rolls of brown paper (that are table cloths when eating crabs). ** I f you want the burnt ends get here early - 1230 and the last order was sold in front of me. I had a great Brisket sandwich and Mac & Cheese. The staff is very courteous and the music selection makes you feel like you are sitting at a backyard BBQ. Only thing missing is a nice cold spirit (not sold here).

Prices are very reasonable.

Man listen, soft-smokey and tender brisket, they let me split the portion and try the Sausage. Gruyere Mac, Cornbread with little kernels still inside whaT!?
Can't take a picture because it's already gone. Thank you!

Good BBQ, and very close to work. I usually get the brisket and the elotes. They don't offer some of the sides they have at other locations, but you never leave unsatisfied.

Had burnt ends and pulled pork with a side of coleslaw. I opted for the NC sauce and was glad I did as the meat was pretty dry. Coleslaw was on the sweet side. BBQ was fine but uninspired.

I live down in Texas where they are known for their BBQ. But with that being said Blackwood BBQ has some of the best BBQ I have ever had. I ordered the Beet Brisket, Smoked Mikeska and all of their sides. If BBQ was always this good I would each it every day of the week. Their beef was so perfectly tender it just feel apart. Their Smoked Mikeska was so flavorful and went so well with their mustard sauce. There is not a single bad thing on their menu. Coleslaw, Mac and cheese, baked beans, cornbread even down to the pickles! Everything was full of flavor. If your in Chicago make sure not to miss this stop! You won't regret it.

They've gone up in prices, due to COVID-19 and the quality has gone WAY down. Blew $18.00 on a brisket/burnt ends platter. The meat was old and appeared to have been reheated. I got small scraps of meat. Nothing like the pictures. Spoke to the staff regarding the quality and my dissatisfaction and was met with blank stares. I wasn't even asking for a refund. LOUSY customer service experience. I threw that mess in the garbage and ate grapes from home. 200 block of West Adams, Chicago. Don't waste your money!!!

Brisket was really good especially since they asked what my preference of cut was. The cornbread always pretty spot on too.My only regret was that I got the sweet sauce. It was good but the briskets flavor seemed like it would fit better with a spicer sauce. That being said that was my own choice. Everything they did was great.

Excellent BBQ. The menu is simple; sandwich, salad, or BBQ tacos. There's also a platter option that includes sides. Your only other decisions are type of meat and BBQ sauce. I get either the chicken or pulled pork sandwich with the 'slaw on top. So good. Brisket is also available. A surprisingly large number of people opt for the salad. Service is fast even if the line is out the door.

I visited this location with very high expectations and left very underwhelmed. The service was fine and the food was decent. On the left is the pulled chicken sandwich with pickles and a side of mac & cheese. On the right is the beef brisket with pickles and a side of apple coleslaw. Both have the Chicago style sauce. The sandwich was a disappointment, the pulled chicken was lukewarm. I was expecting a hot sandwich ????

It was my first time eating here and the beef Brisket was really tender and flavorful even without a sauce. They have really good options for sauces: I had Chicago (sweet and spicy) and Memphis (sweet). I chose the platter and it comes with a side of pickles and apple coleslaw which is really refreshing and light and compliments the meat well. The place is rustic vibe and very accessible if you work around the west loop area.

We see lucky to find this hidden gem in the middle of downtown Chicago! The staff is friendly and very helpful. The portions they give you are plentiful and delicious. I got the chopped beef brisket and got the Kansas city sauce and my wife got the same with the Chicago style sauce. Juicy doesnt even begin to describe it. The cornbread actually had kernels of corn in them and were sweet, so it went perfectly with the meat. The chili was amazing and had pieces of beef Brisket in it! I'm from Florida and I've never tasted bbq like this down there. Great find and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a chill spot amongst all of the hustle and bustle.

TEXAN APPROVED! Without a doubt, the best BBQ in Chicago. I moved here from Texas and was dying for some great BBQ. (I actually had friends visiting from Texas bring me brisket on the plane.) There are some okay and some good BBQ places that I've tried in Chicago but Blackwood BBQ reminds me of home. I love just stepping in the doorway and stopping to smell. There is nothing like the smell of great BBQ. Even the sweet tea reminds me of Texas. I do wish they would make brisket and bacon breakfast tacos. The BBQ is great and the employees are super friendly too. I hope to see everyone here every Friday at lunch. If you're visiting from out of town, come to Blackwood BBQ and you're home.

The food I had - elotes, mac-n-cheese and corn bread - was delicious. Fairly priced at $2.49 each. The staff was friendly. I went around 1:30 - my coworkers told me this joint is a bit busy during the lunch hour. I would definitely say it's worth the wait, though.
