The drinks were good, but the food was amazing. The chorizo-stuffed dates might be one of the best things I've had all year. Their wine list was very interesting, and I wish I had more time to explore it.
I love the communal tables and the atmosphere as a whole. I will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu as soon as possible!

My friend and I ordered their grilled market fish, focaccia, and a shrimp and another fish dish. Was a completely fulfilling meal. The grilled market fish with feta cheese and preserved banana peppers is probably the best fish I had so far. Absolute treat to taste buds. Should definitely try out the place when you are in downtown. The waiter guided us well in picking dishes for our palette.

hummus and pita bread are delicious.
peach salad was also quite good.
shwarma chicken was super tender.
Other items are good but a bit too heavy/saucy

We went here for brunch. The service was good and the plates were made for sharing, decent portions, good quality, a bit overpriced for what it was though.
As for the Mediterranean inspiration, we couldn’t taste it in the food, adding a bit of tahini, hummus, mint or dates here and there to plates is not enough to make them taste “Mediterranean”.

Avec was an amazing experience. We loved our waitress as well as Steven. The food was amazing. Everything really hit the spot. The chorizo stuffed dates were insane. The oysters were absolutely delightful. We loved the prawns. The sauce was to die for. And the take of the Persian lamb dish was also great. We somehow forgot to take a photo of the oysters but they were stunning. All the people who worked there were so nice and really made the experience that much more enjoyable!

Would give it 6 stars if I could.
A flawless experience with exceptional food, impeccable service, and great vibe in a great space.
Food was really some of the best I’ve had - it is remarkably difficult to put together dishes with such elegance, flavour and complexity in a way that seems so effortless and makes the food seem so approachable.
Shout out to Damien for taking care of us so nicely.

We had a dinner date in Avec, the food was fantastic! Love the service as well, Tim is very nice guy! Braised lamb hummus and the market fish are highly recommended!!

It's been a long time since I've been to avec so it was wonderful getting to go again this month. The food is as delicious as ever and I really love the atmosphere of the space. The service is wonderful too.
I adore their hummus & pita, and they served us a mushroom flatbread that was divine. Everyone loves the bacon wrapped dates but they are a bit spicy for me. Still, I don't think you can miss trying them if you come. Drinks were lovely too.

Been to Avec for dinner but first time for brunch. So happy to give it a try. Their brunch food was delicious! It was nice that they also had some half portions on certain items so we ordered a variety of food. The service was also fantastic. We sat at the counter and had the best conversation with the host and our server. Can’t wait to go back again!

Absolutely delicious! Bacon wrapped dates were a must get! All the dishes turned out yummy and were great for sharing. Nice selection of wine to pair with the proteins. Food in photos fed 3 hungry people to the brim. Our party sat at a table on the second floor, which I highly recommend if you want a private table in a quieter space.

Avec is such a wonderful restaurant. The small intimate seating only fits a few large parties but the feel the place gives off is purely communal. I stopped in with some friends and ordered around half the menu. Obviously everything was delicious, but what stood out to me was the unique flavor combinations. So many times I've been eating Mediterranean and I feel the dishes are copy/paste, they're always good but nothing that stands out. With Avec you're getting pieces of the entire region, The eastern coast, Moroccan, and even some Spanish/Italian are speckled into each dish. This to me is the epitome of a cuisine, when you can evolve it into something completely new, but it doesn't seem foreign. If I'm back in Chicago I'll be stop back in with more people, that's for sure.

The food here is so unique! I’ve heard about avec so many times finally I tried this place myself. It did not let me down. The dishes here are all so unique and delicious. I was totally amazed by everything that I’ve ordered! Our waitress was also very polite and gave us lots of recommendations. We were lucky to be dinning on the second floor where it was spacious and comfortable. The downstairs seating looks a bit crowded with little distance between different parties.
