Street food indeed.
Simple,ordinary,undistinguished ,inexpensive,good for killing hunger pangs until your next meal.
Decor simple and unremarkable.
Parking metered on street.Service good.
Only if passing by,make a stop.Not a destination.

I have to say this cozy little place has a great taco! I've been craving a good authentic taco for a long time and coming back to Chicago led me to this spot. The taco hits every note and checks all the boxes, from the corn tortilla to the tender beef and fresh cilantro you can taste the quality ingredients you would expect. In Historic Little Italy Chilango has earned its spot.

Very efficient place in my opinion. Always a reliable choice. The burritos are delightful as is their empanadas with the pink sauce. Tonight I had nachos and a chicken burrito and both were SO GOOD. We’re huge fans of this place!

Love their empanadas! Today I got chicken and beef w/ rice. I’ve tried almost everything except the deserts. If you have the time, please give them a try. Verde salsa supremacy ????????

Got some nachos and horchata here. The nacho’s portion size was massive and it was really good. Loved their sauces- especially the spicy-smokey one. Will definitely visit again to try other things.

Best al pastor tacos!! Food is always quick and staff are always really kind. A little pricey but worth it. Red and pink sauce are good.

Chilango is one of my favorite lunch spots in Little Italy, Chicago when I’m on the UIC medical campus ???? I usually go for their steak bowls or tacos (fish & shrimp), sometimes for the empanadas they get from Lito’s! The portion size is good & pretty much everything I ordered there tasted great ????????????

A special shoutout to their Fish tacos: amazing - what is that sauce! Prices are decent, service is fast and there are about 5-6 tables for dine-in. They are locally famous for their selection of sauces. The Nutella and Banana Empanada is worth checking out too.

Spinach empanada was good! Hot, flavorful, good texture, salty cheese inside, lemony flavor as well.
Tortillas are a bit tough.
Steak was a bit tough.
Fish and steak taco flavor was meh.
Tables were sticky.
I wouldn’t get the tacos again.
