Food was good ???????? not gonna lie! However, Customer service and interaction is horrible and definitely needs help! If you have a card you must place the order at the kiosk which the employees are confused on how to work. The girl sitting in the lobby is not too friendly, but the only person who can help. She asked me 4x my order? Why? Forgot my 2 cornbread and had an attitude because she forgot my Kool aid which I was charged twice for. Gave me half of my oxtails I had to return 3x! This place sits next to a furniture store in the dark corner so you can miss it easy ..I called because I couldn't see it. They gave me the address only...duh ???? I couldn't imagine dining in but there is no room it's just carryout. I will return but expect ghetto service and hope everything is going well in the kitchen ????

I have been to the dirty south kitchen soul food since 2020 and I find that the experience in dining there was one of a kind when I first came it was an all-you-can-eat buffet and now it's just a soul food pick up. The service is still hospitable down to earth and very accommodating. The young gentleman that takes the orders is exactly that a very gentle kind and courteous young gentleman. I found the cook one of them at least to be very engaging and accommodating kind words but informative and just down home South very very professional. If I had to go one through five stars I would give them four and three four and three quarters

We had a last minute celebration at work and Katara came through for us. She was kind, courteous, and very professional. The food was SO delicious and we are so excited to have them cater for us again in the future. There was not 1 plate leftover! I highly recommend you trying their food. I can't wait to visit the restaurant.

This place is a must try if you haven't yet. I Was recommended by some foodies on FB. Walked in and was taken care of by an intently young man. I asked what he recommended and i am glad I went with it which was the smothered ox-tail side of rice and mac n cheese and an exceptional kool aid to bring it all down. I spent less than $20 on a meal that could easily feed two. The food was nice and hot and was eaten right away. I can't wait to try other dishes.

It was pretty good. Not excellent, but good. The prices we OK. 13.99 per person on Sunday. The Mac n cheese was flavorful, although the macaroni was overcooked. Cornbread stuffing was FIRE!!! The smothered steak was juicy and seasoned well, it was my favorite. The fried chicken was decent. The fried fish was decent as well. The yams tasted like they were straight out the can. The greens were good, but a bit spicy for my taste. BBQ ribs and chicken were really good!! The sauce wasn't too sweet or spicy, and it was cooked perfect. Nice and juicy! Oxtails were small and overcooked
:(
The drinks were GREAT!! KOOL AID!!! Plus they had a sweet tea and lemonade!!
The main thing I hated was that in order to access the bathroom, you had to walk outside to the back. All in all, a great should food experience!! Eat at this place :)

You evenhave dessert options as well as seasonal fruit. You can get waffles, pork chops, turkey chops made to order so that it's super fresh.. Virginia the manager was sweet and she greats you a warm welcome. You can get foutain drinks, sweet tea kool aid ,lemonade the choices are endless. You won'tbe disappointed.

See update below...

It was Good. The food is decent but the service and environment could be better. Still, the price of the food and the selection was fair. However the AC, and timeliness of the food, especially with a small crowd, could be better. Still the food & health inspection department gives it an A grade rating. Would I go back? Yes, I'd try it again. Would I favorite this place? Thats Debatable.

Update:

Pro's

Would I favorite this place? I just might.
I feel my three stars may have been a bit harsh so I increased it one. The food here is good and the service is still okay. I just learned the selection of food varies. While everything in the menu is available during buffet hours (no additional charge), if something isn't out, you simply request it and voila! The hostess brings it out.

The menu consists of: gumbo (with all the traditional ingredients{yes, crab, sausage & shrimp}), ox tails, red beans rice, red snapper, BBQ chicken, fried chicken, meatloaf, black eye peas, rice, corn bread, & BBQ baby back ribs, among others. While the drink list does not include any liqour, beer, or wine, you can have all the bottled and canned soda, juice and water you want. All of this at the fantastic price of $10.89. Hell of a deal, right?

The hostess come around frequently checking and ensuring all the guest are satisfied. You can either leave a tip on the table or with your card when you pay.

The place has ample seating and can sit 52 before the fire department steps in. So if you have groups or need to host a big party, you can. If you need catering, the joint offers catering.

If you're coming for the ambience? Youll he disappointed. While the place doesn't look halfway near fancy it does the job of letting you sit and eat in peace. He noise level is typically low to mildly high. However it's never so loud you can hear your partner across from you.

The music played includes traditional African American oldies. When you step in and hear it, youll feel like you've just stepped back into the late 70's & 80's.

This place is a mom and pop shop so there is some work to be done but overall it is a restaurant that you should consider trying.

Cons:

Like any buffet, you aren't allowed to take anything to go.

PS, if you're wondering how the food tastes? It taste like food for the soul.
