Sushi Tama is wonderful. The fish is air flown in daily from all over the world. We had varietals of halibut, snapper, shrimp and even tuna that we had never had before. the prices were fair, and the service was great. It's definitely a great spot!

The sushi was transcendent. We had the omakase at the counter and it was incredible. Still dream about the sea perch, the ankimo and the big eye snapper. The staff were really lovely especially our chef.

Great quality and great service. Some items are not served unless you dine on the counter. My only issue the the rice to fish ratio is a bit off, but nonetheless still very tasty. Omakase is the way to go, then just whatever else you need to fill your cravings. Reservations are a must.

Do yourself a favor and dine at the chef’s counter!! We came on a whim early January and just returned tonight in March. Blown away by the experience both times. We met the owner and head chef the first time, just so happened to be sat with him, who moved from Tokyo two years ago right before the pandemic to open this place. Every piece of decor and dish ware is imported from Japan. You choose your own sake glass and they have the Toto highest end toilets for gods sake. He met the dream of opening his restaurant then the pandemic hit, which he spent primarily alone making sushi for take out orders and not knowing people in LA. The care he and the other chefs take in preparing each bite was astounding. We met fellow diners who shared that it’s the closest experience they’ve found to dining in Tokyo. While we haven’t yet been to Japan, our desire to only grows every time we come here. It’s truly delicious and the counter experience makes it special. Okay that’s enough you guys are all gunna take my reservation spots now.

After hours of research, I booked Sushi Tama for this year's Valentines' dinner. Let me preface by saying that this is the one of the best traditional omakase meal we had. I want to focus on traditional because chef Yoshimoto is all about the best ingredients, and he claims +90% of ingredients are from Japan. Most of all, wow, these are tasty sushi! And rice was prepped perfectly: not too sticky, good firmness, and just a tiny hint of vinegar. Omakase consists of a wide variety fish and cooking styles.

A few notes:
- omakase took about 1.5 - 2 hours

- there are two pricings for omakase: sushi counter is $150 and table is $100. When you sit at a table and ordered an omakase, all food will arrive at once in a box. But if you reserve counter seats, you will get sushi counter price of $150. Chef Yoshimoto is prepping your dishes right in front of you. He will set each sushi in front of you when it's ready.

- it was interesting to learn that chef Yoshimoto isn't a fan of omakase. He didn't have such option when he first opened the store. Eventually he added it to the menu. He is all about eating the fish you like (tuna for him).

- Omakase bento box is no longer available. He is all about the whole dinning in experience.

- Make sure you bring your vaccination card & ID. They will check it at the entrance

- restrooms have Toto bidet

- music is kinda loud in the background, not the best place to talk business

One of the newest additions to Beverly Hills, Sushi Tama is a perfect place for a casual lunch nigiri and sashimi omakase. Loved their interior design with clean lines and chic color palette as well.

Sushi Tami has great sushi, knowledgeable chefs, friendly service. Prices are not cheap but the quality is high and it's a great location. As good as the sushi is there are many competing options in the area and Sushi Tama is more memorable for it's aesthetic than the food itself. Still Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.

Sushi Tama provides amazing sushi at a price point that is more than reasonable. They offer items not commonly found from tuna cheek to eel (not the bbq version everyone else has). Majority of the fish is flown in from Japan. Highly recommended for these reasons.

High end sushi fare with prices to match but the experience and service weren’t up to snuff. Had to pair my $300+ dinner with a direct view into the corridor with the bathroom, which was unfortunately not appetizing. The male server/host thought he was clever and charming but his jokes/comments were just really off-putting.
