So, I’ve been hearing about Harold & Belle’s for at least a decade and finally went with my family this afternoon. The restaurant is New Orleans themed with black art along the walls and the service was excellent. The food—we all had clam chowder and the wingettes to start. The clam chowder was a 5 for 5. It was thick and savory and absolutely delicious! The wingettes were good, but not as I hoped or as they looked. Also, the amount of wings was not commensurate to $18 price tag. I’m any case, they were fairly good. For the entree we had the seafood platter—catfish, fried shrimp, French fries, and I tried the Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, although the Mac & Cheese was not my mommas Mac & cheese…lol! My son had the salmon creole with pasta and although he loved the salmon, which was nice and moist, he did not favors the pasta. For dessert we ordered the sweet potato pie and banana pudding, and we were surprised with benet’s, which were good. Overall I’d give this restaurant a solid 4. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visit was just ok. We had the fried chicken, macaroni, red beans, jambalaya, fried fish, and oysters. Didn’t get photos of the gumbo, chicken and macaroni. The gumbo was very nasty. The oysters were dry. The fish was wet and soggy. The food was a bit pricey for the quality. The wait to be seated was ok to say we didn’t have reservations. The wait to put an order in took long once we were seated. The food also took long to come out. Not worth the time or the money in my opinion. 3 stars for encounter with all staff and clean facility.

Down south flavor and cuisine in a West Coast locale. I was so here for it. I was skeptical because it’s Cali and so far from NOLA. However, I was pleasantly surprised and grateful.

It’s #BlackOwned which I love. They had a great 90s R&B playlist playing on the speakers, and they even had a little live music going on beforehand - a saxophonist to specific, and it created such a sultry and sexy vibe. The aesthetic was southern and upscale. The establishment was clean, the have a bar section, and the service was perfect.

I ordered the Shrimp Scampi, the Crown Apple mixed drink (forgot the name sorry), a side of red beans + rice (which was big enough for a meal itself), & and we got complimentary buttered bread. Let me tell you — all of the food was amazing, literally know complaints. It was by far the best shrimp scampi I’ve ever had. I was worried it might be too spicy, but it was perfect. The red beans and rice was a tad salty, but I ate it all, happily.

My total came out to around $66.

I can’t wait to visit LA again, so I can come back!

Thanks for a great experience yall!

Where to start? I got the gumbo, the catfish seafood dinner, the clam chowder soup, and the peach cobbler. Everything was really delicious. The gumbo, while a bit on the salty side, was well-seasoned, and the meat and broth were both fresh and flavorful. The clam chowder was likewise hearty and thick without being overly so, and was very flavorful. Even the garlic bread was crisp where it should be and soft where it should be, and great for dipping in the gumbo.

The catfish was well-seasoned, though best if you add hot sauce. The shrimp that came with the dinner were large and fresh. The breading was good, and not excessive. I got spinach and mac and cheese as the sides, and both were well-portioned and tasted great. Finally, the cobbler was fantastic, and my only complaint is that I didn't order another one of it.

I don't give 5-star reviews often, but this one earned it. I'll be coming back, and with friends!

Beverly Hills in South Central. Harold & Belle's is the jewel of Jefferson Park. The world-class dining experience that somehow continues to improve with time. For over fifty years, diners have entered these doors and been instantly teleported to New Orleans. Elegant dining areas, exceptional service and absolutely delicious menu offerings make Harold & Belle's the epicurean indulgence that you must experience for yourself. Portions are huge, so most of the happy people you pass at the entrance carrying food out, did not order take-out. Those are leftovers. And in case you haven't figured it out, I am a lifelong customer and after your first visit, you will be too. Reservations are recommended.

The service was great on a very busy night. There are no tables available so me and my three friends sat at the bar so we can get in and get out. I ordered a shrimp pasta dish that came with gravy. It wasn’t my cup of tea. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve eaten spaghetti noodles with my gumbo and loved it. This may have been tasty to someone else, but the gravy seemed to heavy for the noodles that night. I am a pescatarian, which means I only eat seafood now, and I was very excited to try this dish. I miss eating Swedish meatballs and noodles. I thought this dish might do the trick. I’ll keep looking.

The food is excellent. The chicken and the jambalaya were delicious. The seasoning on the food was perfect with that little kick of spiceness. The dessert, the bread pudding was magnificent. Great customer service. $7 for parking, bring cash.
