The food was good (didn't particularly care for the cornbread). We took our order to go, as there was no place to eat inside. Discovered that they gave us black eye peas instead of the ordered red beans and rice. I would definitely go back again!

Can you say yummm! Found this place on Yelp after searching for soul food around the area. It was Sunday coming from a jazz fest and lots of places were already closed. We pull up and there’s a line. They had a Sunday dinner special - choice of entree, 2 sides, rice and gravy or conrbread dressing, cornbread, dessert and sweet tea….all for $23. Food was authentic. I got fried catfish - cooked well. Mac and cheese was made with lots of cheese and love. The greens, dressing, cornbread..oh my gurd, everything was delish. And there was enough food for two people. I ate it for dinner and lunch the next day. And I was stuffed both times. Do not sleep on this place because I will be sure to come back.

I haven't been to Dulan's for several years. They are still very popular with a long line just to order. It didn't take too long to get my food. There is seating outside and more seating inside now. The food was very good. I got the short rib dinner. You get a choice of three sides with a dinner and two cornbread muffins, $25.00 +.
My only complaint is the meat was a little to chewy, and I'm not sure if the meat is short ribs it looks and tastes more like chuck roast.

Friendly staff. We were very hungry. Line moved quickly. Ordered outside and then ate indoors. Food was good. However high traffic place. Most people ordered to go.

Absolutely loved the food. I had the baked fish, mac & cheese, beans & rice, candied yams and peach cobbler. It was better than I had expected. It was served at the right temperature and the portions were huge. It was shared between two of us and there was enough for me to have another meal of it the next day. It reheated well. Would definitely like to try more from this place.

Been wanting to go here for a while. Finally went here last week and was not disappointed. The food is incredible the place is kind of funky and the owner is just a Really Really Really nice guy. Had some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. What are you going to do along with Sweet Potatoes Mac & Cheese,Biscuits, & Coconut Pineapple cake.Yum Yum Yum and triple Yum. It's mostly take out but there are a few tables inside. If you're in LA and want Soul Food look no further.

My daughter and I are here in LA on our vacation “from Florida”. I saw this restaurant featured on Good Morning America and was extremely excited to have dinner here. As we drove up to the front of the restaurant we saw the long line waiting on the side walk, but it did not prevent us from coming to place a order because we were willing to wait & pay for good soul food. After they took our order at the window there was a sign that stated from that point it would be 20 mins. That was a “joke”!!
My daughter and I stood waiting for over 40mins as other customers that ordered “AFTER” us received their orders first!!!. Our number was order no# 104 and we heard them call 105,106, 107 up to 111. My daughter then asked the young lady at the window what happened to “our” order??? She asked: what was your order no# again??? which we told her it was 104.. then she realized and said our ticket did not print “inside” for anyone to fulfill your order!!! We waited all that time ( in the cold wind) outside on the sidewalk for this food!! They didn’t realize they didn’t have our order!!!! ... I was just ready to ask for a refund when they “finally” handed over our order.
I must say it was a “disappointment” for the cost of $52 bucks and the long wait… It “was not worth it!!” They tried to create the flavor with a lot of salt and sugar.
Trust me folks “I cook soul food”. I’m from the south and you don’t need a lot of salt to make soul food flavorful!!! . We ordered the fried chicken dinner which had a nice flavor of oregano and seasonings “but it was too salty!”We also ordered collards which was just okay but there was “too” many stems…Dulan family please “remove” the stems from your greens then your greens would be more flavorful. The Mac & cheese taste like they used just velvetta cheese and that’s it. We also ordered the fried fish which was good!! My daughter enjoyed the fish.
The Orka & corn with stewed tomatoes had too much sugar or something sweet..It was okay but not “comfort”food I’m accustomed to. What happened to onions, fresh garlic, peppers and natural herbs for flavor. Not Salt!!
Okay now the dessert was very disappointing too. I ordered “sweet potato pie” which is my favorite dessert and peach cobbler. The pie was too “sweet”. Folks there should be a perfect balance of vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, a little orange zest and the natural taste of sweet potatoes in sweet potato pie… All I was tasting was “sugar!!” Was it a “sugar pie”!!!!!
And the peach cobbler i think may have been apple pie..It didn’t taste like peach cobbler at all. “Well”!!!!… LA peeps..I know you may think Dulan’s is a good soul food restaurant.. but it’s just “okay” It’s “not” a excellent comfort soul food restaurant . Folks come to Florida, Atlanta Ga or North Carolina then you’ll know what real comfort soul food is suppose to taste like!!!!. Also Dulan family work on your ordering process so your customers won’t wait so long to drop their hard earned money on simi- okay food
Sorry but i had to be honest!!!

This is the best soul food I’ve had out in a while! I got the fried chicken and my partner got the turkey wings. Both very delicious. I will definitely be back.

Also my order included a slice of sweet potato pie and a cup of sweet tea. Not to mention a gracious supply of condiments.. butter, hot sauce, cranberry sauce and napkins

There will be a line...count on it. I ordered online to pick up. ALWAYS good, you can count on that as well. This location had everything we ordered except for the dessert but that's ok. Other locations run out of popular items on Sundays. They give enough food for 2 to 3 days!
