I throughly enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. Service was quick and our server was pleasant. This was my first experience with Puerto Rican cuisine and it was amazing! I had the Mofongo Relleno with pork and my friend had the Canoa De Platano Maduro, and both were really enjoyable. Highly recommend ????

Haven't been here in a while. Let me just say, it was packed with people! We decided to order to go and Kenya and Matthew were so helpful and patient. Food is so flavorful and cooked to order. Puerto Rican and Mexican choices have something for everyone. I would definitely recommend this place!

These reviews ... not sure where they come from but the food here did not taste at all like authentic PR food. We ordered 3 different plates, 2 of which came with beans.

The steaks had 0 flavor and tasted like it was cooked with a fish near by. The porkchop tasted weird as well, so it wasn’t eaten. And the beef stew was just okay but tasted like there was pork in there (which I hate pork). So why are all the meats tasting like they have been contaminated by other meats?? Weird ...

The beans was so runny with no flavor. The best way to describe it, is if you ever ate “El Pollo Loco” beans. Yea it tasted like that ... I’ll give the 2 stars cause the service was nice other than that. We all didn’t end up eating our entire foods which sucked but we didn’t want to argue about it so we sucked it up and left unfortunately. Maybe I came on a really bad day where the cook wasn’t there?? But still...

It's ok I'm Puerto Rican and my husband is Mexican. We both ordered a Rican dish and he had Mexican nachos. Both cultures are known for their amazing flavors and boldness. None of the dishes hit that wow factor at all. The arroz was dry and bland. The pernil lacked all flavor. My yucca con mojo was ok but it was probably due to the mojo sauce since it had garlic. I won't return here again

Being Mexican I can appreciate Latin flavors of seasoning in any great dish and Señor Big Ed absolutely putts a solid stamp of approval on it for me. The staff was very friendly and invited us on in to sit anywhere we like. The food, it was obviously fresh as it came out in timely fashion and straight off the kitchen stove hot and not hot and cold like from a microwave and out in 2 min. I'd like go back and try more of there othere plates, thank you Señor Big Ed!

I heard about this place from my brother law, who happens to be a chef. He told me that he was very pleased and that I should try it. Well, finally tried it today and tried two dishes: Morongo with pork platter and the Bistec enzabollado. Both were very good. I specially enjoyed the habichuelas and white rice. Nothing compares to mom's Puerto Rican home cooking but I am sure happy to have Señor Ed here out west. Boricuas!!!!!!

Where are my boricuas at? I finally found a good Puerto Rican joint here in So Cal. This time I was accompanied by my good friend @jessmcardona who knows Puerto Rican food. @srbiged is serving up classic dishes such as carne guisada, the meat is juicy and succulent. The bistec encebollado is a must as well. Make sure to try the mofongo with pork, it is way better than the one Islas Cuban Latin Kitchen serves. The empanadas that we tasted from the appetizer sampler were on point as well. We were both impressed with the food and hope to come back soon. Check them out and make sure to tell them I sent you

???????? PUERTO RICO
Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles:
Puerto Rican spots and trucks pop up here and there over the years, but the kind of longevity Señor Big Ed has hints to something really special happening in the kitchen here in the Los Angeles and Orange County borderlands. Sitting down at one of the tables is as close as you can get to feeling the tropical sunshine, wind, and humidity of San Juan's Castillo de San Cristóbal. In fact, it is painted on the walls.

Staff was happy to recommend popular menu items. Stewed beef was super tender and savory. Flank steak and onions was flavorful but not over-seasoned. Friendly staff provided attentive service. Very happy with our experience here.
