I and my family went to the ambassador this weekend the located in the galleria area. The service we received was great we had such a big order with a few substitutions that they accommodated for us and everything came out right and food was hot and fresh. The the atmosphere is comfy nothing's to upscale but it was a nice place to enjoy food.

Okay Chinese food. Very similar cuisine to many American style Chinese restaurants in strip malls across the country. Inside it is very nicely decorated. A bit pricey for the food you get though.

Let me start off saying that I have heard about Ambassadors for a long time, highly recommended by friends. I finally was able to check it out.

We ordered: Wonton soup, egg rolls, pork fried rice, and orange fried beef.

Quick Food Summary: My guest and I just felt that it was lacking flavor overall. Flavors were VERY light on ALL dishes. We used way more "sauces" than we have compared at other restaurants. For example, the wonton soup broth? No bullion, no shreds of pork, the broth taste like flour water, no exaggeration, the wontons were also very small. I usually drink the broth, here it was just noodle water, so I did not. On the main entree (orange beef) I did take some home, and ultimately tossed it out (which never happens with Chinese), I tried adding more sauces at home and just couldn't get it up to par. Our fried rice is more like an entree to us, not a side, rice itself wasn't bad 3/5. ***If I came back, I'd order the rice and egg rolls only. Eggrolls are handmade, I really liked the texture of the shredded cabbage, they fill them well.

Venue: Very nice, I felt music was a bit loud (jazz) but otherwise very inviting, I can see this being a cute date night place. It has low lighting (nice), and despite lots of people dressing a bit casual, you can dress up and still fit in into the environment.

Customer Service: If I can give them 100 stars here, I would. We had Fernando but interacted with other staff as well and they were just phenomenal. We tend to drink a lot and our glasses were always refilled before it got empty. They cleared our table, so we didn't have stacked dirty dishes as the meal progress. He was very friendly, very pleasant. He knew his menu. This is some of the best customer service I have received since COVID. It felt like PRE COVID customer service. These people cared about their restaurant, and what they where doing. Management needs to do whatever $$$ they can to keep their staff, they were A+ and the reason for the 3rd star (otherwise it was going to be 2).

This is close-by to work for me, I wanted to love it but it just didn't hit that level for me. Fernando and his team was the MVP of the night, thank you!

I thought this place was great. I went in for a late lunch and had a great experience. The service was attentive, my glass was never empty and the food was freshly prepared. It may have taken a little longer than most places I've tried, but it was worth the wait. The crab puffs looked hand twisted and my orange chicken didn't taste like it had been from a freezer bag. It appeared hand breaded. (You could also order it grilled) I wish I had come in sooner.

Went to pickup an order of egg rolls. Today at lunch. It was $4.97! The cashier told me in order to use debit that I must spend $5.00. So I unfortunately had to turn around and leave with no food and they had an order of egg rolls to throw out! All over 3 pennies! I guess they have their priorities!????????

Easily, no questions asked, the best Chinese spot in Houston and one of the best places to eat in Houston. Huge menu, amazing people and service and a solid vibe. One of the gems. Was recommended to me by someone who has lived here 50 years and is one of the first places I recommend to someone.

I went with my girlfriend and we did not have a good experience. I was expecting better food and service. And they charge $2 for a tiny amount of peanuts and $2 additional fof rice when ordering a meal. Would not return.

On June 3, 2022 my partner and I decided to have a lovely dinner out and walk to the nearby restaurant. We ordered the crab puffs, my partner had the curry shrimp and I had the Kung Pao chicken. I only finished half my food and took the other half to go. Before we left the restaurant my stomach felt off. Once we left in the short 13 minutes walk back home I vomited over 4 times. I was in gastrointestinal hell. My stomach was bloated and I couldn’t stop gagging. Once we made it home, I vomited everything out and had diarrhea. After there was nothing more in me to come out. I called the restaurant to notify them so that no one else would have to go through this. The lady that answered the phone said “okay, what did you have to eat?” She said nothing else just “okay” no sympathy nor empathy. No “I’m sorry”. She ended the call. I will never go back again. This ruined our Friday night. $60 dollars wasted. Thankfully my partner was okay.

I would really rate this place a 2.5 stars if that was an option. The food was honestly not bad. The wonton soup had a good flavor to it. But if it comes down to the service that’s where things went down south.
One of the waiters were making jokes the entire time. Just because two people in my party didn’t want to have any meat in the dishes they ordered he said “ oh so your vegetarian tonight” and “ oh we got two vegetarians tonight” in a sarcastic way.
We didn’t know we could request a different kind of rice for the meal because he NEVER told us we even got rice with the meal. When we found out we could get brown rice we asked them to switch it out. They brought one of the rices when the waiter came to see how everything is we told him that we were missing a brown rice and his response was “ well if you told us you wanted this earlier then we you wouldn’t have to wait”. He knew this was our first time there. Definitely left a sour taste in our mouths after that .

This has become my go to lunch restaurant. The food is fresh and hot. I've tried multiple items on their lunch menu and nothing has disappointed me. In fact, everything has been great. I especially like the Mongolian Beef, pictured.
