TX BBQ and BURGERS Reviews

It's good. I had the Texas Big Boy burger. The brisket was lean but quite cold, perhaps refrigerated, and needed to be warmed before being added to a hot hamburger fresh off the grill. Also, the cheese is not a slice but rather shredded cheese sprinkled on top. Not a fan. Perhaps we can request a slice instead next time? Another thing I noticed: no fountain drinks. The combo includes one canned soda or bottled water.

A little pricey, I thought the meat patty would be bigger, especially based on the pictures.

There is room for improvement here but it's a great concept and has a great vibe. I like to support local so I'll definitely be back. I'll know to ask for a few adjustments next time.

Been here a couple times. Both times I got the loaded briskett fries. Fries are fresh and the ensemble was tasty. I really like the grilled veggies on top.

The first time I wasn't expecting so much bbq sauce as I like to taste the meat w/o sauce and dressings.
Even though I asked for easy sauce the 2nd time, the cashier apparently either forgot to tell them or they forgot to go easy. I was so hungry, I was ok with it i guess. ???? I'd definitely give some other items a shot the next time I visit.

Speaking of the cashier, she's an older lady who just seems indifferent meaning she's not welcoming, but might laugh/smile if provoked. She stands at/around the cash register and I've not seen her go out and restock, clean tables, sweep, etc. during down time. I remember on my first visit asking if the brisket was beef. She answered smartly "Well all brisket is beef." with a smirk. Although not hugely common, some brisket can be from other meats. I would say at this point if they could change anyhing, I would suggest replacing her with an outgoing personality type or train her to greet the customers better. She's the 1st face of the restaurant, with her being mostly customer facing and not the owner(s), customer service is a big deal and they have such a good thing going.

The two main guys that are there are usually busting their butts getting the food out to customers.
The owner did thank me for coming. According to garlandjournal, Facebook, and LinkedIn, this business black-owned.

If you're in the area, give them a shot!!!

This place was was an absolute delight! We stopped here on a whim and OMG. Everything was so rich and savory and that sauce was hands down the best we’d tried the whole week we’d been in Dallas. The staff was very friendly as well!

Brisket was fall-apart delicious. Great seasoning and bbq sauce that had a little bite to it. The baked beans and mac n cheese were great sides too. Would definitely come here again.

This place is fantastic! It’s up there with my favorite all time BBQ places! We walked in there with about 20 other people from a Volleyball Tournament and there was the owner, greeted us when we walked in! And what. Great guy! I was amazed at how quick they served us and they took great care of us all! And this is some of the best BBQ I’ve had in a long time! Had the Brisket and Sausage sandwich, fantastic! It’s a small place, we filled it up, they didn’t miss a beat! You’ve got to get to this place if you like good BBQ!

My work crew and I ordered carryout from here and we were very impressed. Food was delicious! I loved the potato salad and the brisket. My boss got the ribs and can't stop raving about them. The sauce is interesting and very tasty. We will add this to our list of go-to's.

Full belly and empty plate! Best BBQ I’ve had in years. Brisket and chicken were both tender, juicy and deliciously smokey. Cole slaw and sauce were on point.

I stopped in today for lunch and got the Tuesday Burger special and a half pound of brisket. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and my food came out quickly.

The brisket was visually uninteresting with no smoke ring or bark. Decent flavor though and moist. The BBQ sauce was.. unusual. More Asian inspired than what I would consider a proper Texas BBQ sauce.

The burger was tasty. Meat to bun ratio was a little out of whack but could've been rectified if I had opted to make it a double. The toppings were fresh and delicious.

All in all I was satisfied with my meal. This is a decent hole in the wall spot but probably won't be winning any awards for "Best in Texas".

Although the food was good, I am giving this restaurant a 3-star review because they do not have sweet tea. What kind of BBQ restaurant doesn't serve sweet tea? I ordered a cheese burger and fries. The burger was good but not worth going back for. I think the fries were overcooked. I will say that my friends ordered brisket stuffed potatoes and they looked delicious.

Also, if you go in there for more than 5 minutes you will smell like BBQ all day. Not fun.
