Love the quinua empanadas and fried yuca and ajiaco was also good.
Our server was nice.
The restaurant and outdoor dining was cute.

Plantains were HEAVEN. I got one of the standard plates and was incredibly impressed with the balance of flavor. Very yummy, and keeps me wanting to go back. The rice and beans were also on point, the chef clearly cares about every aspect of his plates. I’m a fan! Juices are not super sweet, which was surprising to me at first but very refreshing.

The corn arepa and beef soup was really good. The hot chocolate was extremely watered down, it tasted like milk with water mixed.
The customer service was horrendous tho. I was given a table fairly quickly but had to wait for the menu a long time so my husband grabbed one from the bar area. Food took a long time to arrive when it finally did it was incomplete only one arepa out of two. We asked for a tamal to go the waiter forgot and my husband had to wait even more at least half an hour. While I waited in the car Because, our small toddler could not handle all the wait anymore.
Because, of the bad service I left a low tip comparable to the service. The waiter had the audacity to request for a higher tip, when she did not deserve it stating that they usually add it to the total amount but, they tough we would use their suggested amount.

Wow, so good. Great strong coffee, homemade arepas with a lot of love and care. Really great spot, we loved it. Chill vibes and prices are great. The empanadas are also epic, home made and so fresh. Definitely cured the hangover. The fiancée seems to complete full sentences after the breakfast here. Which is usually a plus.

Tropical vibes just like traveling through Colombia. Staff is always very friendly and the food is to die for. Very fresh and authentic.It reminds me of vacationing at your grandparents house. I highly recommend it.

Palenque is so much genuine fun. Rare that you meet a place that feels authentic with such kind and lively energy. The food is delicious and I will always go back for their soups, the best!

Palenque restaurant reminds me my country so bad! If you know Colombians are doing great in music, movies and so many factors! You should try Colombian food. This place really take you there! Can’t wait to be back soon! Love it!!!

Best food in the neighborhood!! And best Colombian in NY. I can’t stop eating empanadas and arepas. The service is always friendly and they also have great coffee. Very recommended.
