Big, yummy portions and a lot of variety on the menu. I only regret I didn’t have room for dessert because the cheesecakes and other cakes looked amazing!

Its pricey but portions are huge. The two of us tried to share one triple decker, one cup soup of the day (matzo) and a side of onion rings... ended up taking the onion rings home.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and everyone working there is amazing.
We also tried their iced coffee which was great. Tried to leave a good tip. Hopefully it was enough! Will try to return next time im in nyc

I visited the Diner with my students on a class trip. The diner reserved seating for us. They held our reservation although we were running late. The waiter was friendly, professional, accurate and checked on us often. The students had a wonderful time. Everyone including the teachers enjoyed our delicious breakfast. I would definitely recommend The Washington Square Diner to my school. It was a great experience! Also the portions were generous.

Decent diner. Great diner vibes and feel. But the wings I had were only ok.
Have to admit I had a slightly frustrating experience - possibly a misunderstanding on my part. I always thought buffalo wings come in buffalo sauce (otherwise they’re chicken wings, right?). Well I ordered the buffalo wings which come with blue cheese dressing on the side but got regular chicken wings with the blue cheese dressing instead. When I asked about the buffalo sauce I got a confused look, and told that the wings come with blue cheese dressing ????. Thankfully they were able to bring me some buffalo sauce on the side which I added to my wings.

The service was very mixed. The waiters seemed very disappointed when my guest and I called an audible for take out instead of dinning at the location. They seem very confused on what I wanted and kept asking over and over, clearly when you have a staff that is dominantly Spanish speaking ????️, and your guest are diverse but clearly speak English it's gonna be a mess. I ordered a Bacon ???? Cheese ???? Burger ???? with NO PICKLES ???? on it. Guess what I got?
You bet. And it is unacceptable at the prices this restaurant asked for.
I grew up in Greenwich Village and so I know most of these establishments since the mid 80's. It was okay then, but it's far cry from yesterdays.
That said if you want to eat they serve okay food, service not the best and should improve in the bear future or they will end up like so many famous restaurants in the area. GONE!

We stopped by on our 4th day out of 8 in NYC. Homesick, tired, hungry, we decided to visit Washington Square Park on a last minute whim. We were walking by this diner and it looked like home! We weren’t wrong. This little diner gave us the homestyle food we were craving, waiters who looked familiar, and cured our homesick woes. The service was impeccable! Our waiter asked us if we wanted dessert, but I told him I was waiting for my sister, because she wanted chocolate cake but was busy washing her hands. They had two choices! When she came back to our table, he asked her which chocolate cake she wanted…! When I think of our NYC trip, I thank this little diner for allowing us to make it through the rest of our trip! ????

Great place to have a quick bite. Employees are polite and attentive. Tables and seats are tidy.. Can pay with cash or card. Reminder that this place requires you to show COVID-19 vaccination card to dine-in.
