Loved it. Classic diner with really friendly staff. We had the Cuban sandwich and it was more than enough as a lunch for the two of us.

The typical American dinner with leather booths and stools.
Service is good and people are really helpful and have a positive vibe. Our burger took ages to come because the place was pack, and it was a little burnt.
But it is a good place to have lunch!

It's really a fun place to take out of towners who want to experience a NYC train car diner. Diner food as expected, and nothing was burnt! Friendly wait staff.

We were looking for a classic diner but as it turns out downtown Manhattan is short of option. We decided on Square and it was awesome. It will be a staple. There were pretty legit regulars, cops, tourists. The server was attentive and kind. Prices were fine. Some of the best beef hash I’ve had. Easy 5 start will be back.

Just had the best-ever experience with a private event at Square Diner. I'm overwhelmed by how perfect everything was. Manager is super communicative, the service is one of the kindest I've seen in NYC, food was so good, and the format itself allowed such a rich, generous, fun experience.

Wanted to show my wife a real diner experience like I remember it as a kid. This didn't disappoint. The food was generous and tasty. The server was friendly and knew the regulars. The atmosphere was warm, quaint and comfortable. You could even see the short order cook in the galley cooking.
