We had a great experience. Oysters were delicious, steak frites cooked to perfection. Waiter was attentive and extremely helpful. Lovely quiet ambiance during the afternoon. Will be returning.

We decided to try this place, finally, because of restaurant week. First the good: the service was excellent and they didn't skimp on servings. Also, the soup of the day - gazpacho with watermelon radish - was incredible.
The bad: we ordered four steak frites, three rare-plus (which they said they could do) and one medium-rare. Only one of the steaks was cooked correctly. Two of the rare-plus steaks were medium, and the medium-rare steak was more like rare-plus. To be generous, maybe they switched up the plates, but even if so, two of the steaks would have been overcooked.
For me, the bare requirement of a brasserie or bistro is to cook a steak correctly. Sadly, we won't be returning.

We came for restaurant week. We didn’t expect perfection (she’s from France, I lived there 2 years), but for the price, we really expected a lot more. The 6 oz steak portions seemed smaller than they should have been (literally four bites). Meat was bland. The cream puffs in the profiterole felt old and dry. We both know how to cook steak and this dessert, and it was just not a good feeling thinking about how our home cooking was better than the meal we had.

Presentation of dishes was good though, and the tomato gazpacho and terrine were good.

There are better options for French food in the city. We only cared about food quality, but it was true as in some of the other reviews about how disorganized the staff seemed. Hopefully they can improve!

Wife and I had an early dinner here and the food and service were incredible, especially relative to the price. Our waiter was Ross who was incredibly attentive. Would recommend the duck or the steak frites. 10/10 and definitely coming back.

Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more. The food was delicious and flavorful, while still being reasonably priced for a fine dining NYC restaurant. The staff was extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations for both food and drinks. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood. We will be coming back!

We'd passed by this place a few times and meant to give it a try at some point and managed to go this week for lunch.

It's in the space that Les Halles used to be and interestingly they even have a tribute item to Anthony Bourdain on the menu.

Another interesting thing about it is that it's owned/run by Francis Staub of the iron cookware fame.

Can't compare it to the previous restaurant as I never went, but the decor is lots of dark wood and very French looking, especially like the chandeliers which look like filament fuses. It was pleasantly quiet as it was practically empty when we went but expect it will get very loud when full. There were a few tables situated outdoors.

We went for the burger and the pesto chicken sandwiches to start. Both were very good. Though it took ages for them to serve them for some unknown reason. Other than ourselves it there were just 2 other tables occupied, so that was odd.

The desserts came much quicker though and we had all 3 listed on the menu. The Ile Flottante (meringue on a plate of creme anglais), Foret Noire (black forest gateau) and Tarte aux Pommes (apple tart).

We weren't too impressed with the Foret Noire. But the other two desserts tasted great. The Ile Flottante won it though as it was light, fluffy and the flavoring was divine. I'd come back just for those 2 desserts.

The service was attentive and filled our water glasses constantly.

Overall, it gets the thumbs up and I'll be interested to try their Croque for brunch, hopefully it will be good.

We were looking to have a last minute lunch and we decided to try this place.

Service: very friendly.

Food: good, but not too many options to choose.

Wine: felt there was a big gap between $70+/- range (not even a handful), after that we were looking at a $250+ range.

Not looking to spend $250++ for a somehow decent wine for lunch.

Amazing dessert, elegant upscale ambience and friendly helpful staff. They have ample indoor seating and some outdoor seating.

I got the Ile Flottante (floating meringue) which was exceptional. It had nice citrus and floral notes which came with a rich delicious crème anglaise.

Great iconic restaurant, and the food is delish, the chef is amazing, and service impeccable. I highly recommend the panna cota dessert, you can ask to aromatize it with coffee or vanilla or other flavors. Cheers

Lovely room and warm, attentive service. Food was not so memorable. Not terrible, but nothing remarkable. Our steak was tough, and our tea (two portions) was shoe leather. The fondue is delicious but simply cheese that is heated and melted. Perhaps an off day (Saturday night).
