Sushi Boutique is a must visit spot in the Gold Coast neighborhood. The atmosphere, cuisine, cocktails and service are spot on. Ask for Kate as your server when you dine. She’s a true professional!!

Definitely recommend this place for a date night! The ambiance and music is a vibe - with the exception if the future Grammt award winning “We dont talk about Bruno” starting to play and suddenly was switched off.

Kate is a gem - hope she is your waitress!

Located just inside the doors of the Claridge Hotel, this cute restaurant is perfect for a chill/classy night of sushi and cocktails with some good tunes in the background (calling all Rufus du Sol lovers!) All of the cocktails are excellent, but the Inari was incredible. The Kisshoten was also tasty. There is also a nice selection of Sake - we went with a bottle after cocktails.
For a shareable, the Salmon and Tuna tartar was excellent. The rice crackers are also a fun and different addition.
The Handrolls were delicious and probably my favorite. Definitely try them fried as it makes them much easier to eat like a taco and also just adds so much more flavor and texture. We tried both fried and not and the table agreed fried was better.
The 4 of us each ordered a Standard Omakase box and subbed the Classic Maki choice with a signature Maki roll. If you aren't that hungry i'd stay stick with the Classic Maki. The Nigiri was excellent with the salmon and tuna being the best.

Fresh fish and really great flavors.

Was in town for work last week and SB came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. The cocktails were creative and delicious. Each bite from apitizers to desert was more amazing than the one before it. The Nigri was out of this world with creative flavors and it was likely the freshest and finest cuts sushi I've ever had. A very well thought out menu and flawlessly executed. Our entire party agreed that even in a food town like Chicago, this place really stood out. Well done team!

The food here is amazing. The drinks are delicious. And the staff is awesome!

My wife and I came for date night and loved the food. We tried the fried chicken, hand rolls and a signature maki. Very high quality and unique.

The black rice sushi was very interesting. Planning to come again to try other dishes as well!

Over priced sushi in a hotel lobby. Waited over 35 mins for a poorly made California roll that you can get better at Jewel. Place is more focused on the aesthetic of the silverware being used then the food.. waiter brought me the check prior to the food even arriving.

Incredible sushi. I truly enjoyed their hand roll sets and thought they were very well priced for the quality of the fish. I’m so happy this place opened up because I’ve been looking for a great hand roll place in Chi.

The ambience of the place is lovely as well. It felt so cozy on a cold winter night.

Lastly, I thought the service was so so excellent! Every person was very accommodating and nice. It was honestly so refreshing because they even treated our 7 month old with a lot of respect and kindness. It’s always a little nerve wracking dining with a baby but we had such a great time and so did she! I would definitely come back here.

Honorable mention to the mushroom buns which our baby absolutely loved!!!

Super fun izakaya inside The Claridge House in the Gold Coast. Cocktail program is robust and food is great. Do not give the mushroom buns and the lake shore drive roll a miss. Gomae is great too!

Really sleek cocktail and Izakaya in the heart of the Gold Coast. Located in the lobby of the Claridge House Hotel, it features both formal tables, as well as really comfortable lounge areas (where I decided to dine). Sushi quality was far and beyond your typical sushi joint, and all the plates i had were creative, fun, and delicious. Cocktail program was inventive and cool as well! I tried a few different drinks and was blown away by them all. Great spot for any occasion really.

This company really knows how to set a mood. I had such a good time at sushi suite I had to try this place out. The drinks were spectacular, the food was delicious. Little different atmosphere then the speakeasy but still very cozy. I really appreciate all the little details the server and the staff put towards making our meal a memorable one.

TL;DR: go here--best sushi outside of Japan, maybe even better than Japan. Jordan Dominguez does it again.

Fresh off the success of Sushi Suite 202 at the Hotel Lincoln, Jordan Dominguez is back at it with his/Sushi by Bou's new concept, Sushi Boutique. I dined at Sushi Suite 202 and loved it, so I knew I had to check out Jordan's new place. I was not disappointed.

The restaurant is in the first floor of the Claridge House hotel. The entrance to the hotel, in fact, is that of the restaurant itself. Though a bit unusual, it does not detract from the experience. In fact, one of the first things I noticed was the care and attention to detail that Jordan and his team put towards the ambience: the color scheme of black and gold seemed to touch on everything from the utensils and glassware to the bar and paintings.

Our server, Shawn, was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, attentive and thoughtful. He helped guide our culinary journey, starting with cocktails.

The cocktail menu again strikes the patron with an acute sense of attention to detail--each drink is named after a kami, or Japanese spirit. We had Inari, Ebisu, and Amaterasu, each of which was delicious. I myself had the Amaterasu, which combined truffle, whisky, and bitters in a sumptuous manner, creating a full-bodied, but also every well-rounded, drink, akin to an old fashioned with a smoother, more silky mouthfeel.

Our first course was the salmon and tuna tartar. Served elegantly with puffed rice crackers, the salmon was delectable, light and yet flavorful, but the tuna was absolutely superb, reminiscent of the flavor of toro, but without being so fatty.

We moved on to 12:44 Boutique: a roll with king crab. It was fantastic. The crab blended well with the other flavors in the roll, yet stood on its own as well, providing a juicy and succulent anchor to the roll.

We followed this with Cosa Nostra, which contains eel (unagi). One of our dinner guests said that she did not like eel. Well… she loved this roll, eel included. It was phenomenal. The eel had a lovely umami flavor.

Another standout was Dolce Vita: a trio of hand rolls with urchin (uni), botan ebi (prawn), and scallop. Again, one dinner guest said that she disliked uni, yet she LOVED this. All three of these were absolutely fantastic, and some of my favorite fish of the meal. I will definitely order this again.

I would be foolish to neglect two dishes that were not strictly sushi: the miso black cod skewer and the Tori Kaarage (fried chicken). These may have been some of the table’s favorites. The miso cod was perfectly tender, buttery smooth, and unbelievably flavorful. The chicken was also divine: it was hot, tender, flavorful, and served with delectable pickled vegetables and slaw.

We finished with a quartet of mocha which, unsurprisingly, were phenomenal.

Overall, Sushi Boutique knocked it out of the park. We are already planning our next visit. As I said at the outset, this is easily the best sushi I have ever had outside of Japan, and, to be perfectly honest, it even rivals some of what I have had in Japan as well. My sincerest congratulations to Chef Dominguez and the Sushi by Bou team—this place is amazing. We will be back.
