The smoked fish here is amazing. It looks like a hole in the wall in the middle of a rather industrial part of town but the food is to die for. Both of the Salmon choices are great. The trout is good too. Next time I think I will try the fried frog legs

THE best place for fish! Salmon steaks crusted with garlic & pepper, smoked to perfection. Jumbo shrimp smoked or fried. The fried catfish dinner was also excellent. Heck I'll even try the Copi on my next trip, whatever that is.

Was excited to visit here. The smoked salmon was amazing! Definitely worth driving out of the city. The fried shrimp while also excellent was not that special.

There was a line just about out the door when we arrived but it moved quickly. The establishment is cash only, but there is an ATM on site. It smelled delicious and the service was exceptional. I enjoyed the smoked shrimp dinner while my friend got the garlic & pepper smoked salmon. So tasty. This place takes quite the journey to get there but it was worth it! Very limited seating so prepare accordingly.

The best smoked fish joint I’ve ever been to. We had their smoked salmon and fried shrimp. Both were top notch. But the smoked salmon definitely was the highlight. It was very well done, with each bite just as flavorful as the last one.

This is one of those few places that one must visit if in town. This is a cash only place. There is an ATM inside however.

Tasty smoked shrimp and fish, great fried seafood too. Crab cakes were beyond plentiful! Cash only. Great service. Carry out and dine out.

Had to travel a bit from the city to get here but it was worth it. I got smoked salmon and smoked trout and it was super tasty. There was no seating inside but there is parking so you can eat inside your car. Be sure to bring cash because they don't accept card but if you forget, they do have an ATM inside. Would definitely come again!

Calumet Fisheries is truly a hidden gem of Chicago - "hidden" because it is a small establishment ( you can't dine in) nestled on the far, far south side of Chicago. A "gem" because the food is fantastic. The smoked fish is delicious and any item I have ordered off the menu has always been satisfying (the catfish dinner is pictured here). The place is cash only but there is an ATM available if need be. Tradition holds that on a nice, sunny day you park your car on the street, order your food, and then sit in the car with your family and eat while enjoying each other's company.

The people who works there is so kind. He explained to me with patience since it's my first time there and refer me to which one is the popular selections. I was able to order smoked salmon with black pepper and garlic, smoked shrimps, deep fried shrimps, and deep fried scallops. And you can see they r cooking my orders too !! So cool !! The smell inside this place is like in heaven lol I can smells the smokiness from the back, omg. It smells so delicious. Can't wait to try them !!!

WOW! This is absolutely worth the drive from Chicago!!! They only take cash- Note, because I never carry cash. We love the off the beaten path places like this. We had the fried catfish & fried shrimp dinners. They were delicious! We bought smoked salmon & trout to go. We love smoked fish & no better place to get it than here. Out back there was a young man chopping wood and tending to the smoke house. We ate on the picnic tables there and watched the sailboats come in down the River. The bridge even goes up to let them by. We will be back again soon! It’s a must stop if coming home from Michigan or Indiana. Make an afternoon and visit Big Marsh as well!
