I am half Korean and half Japanese. Today, I had a lunch here with my mother, who is full Korean. During entire hour of having omakase, we were talking in Korean enjoying our meal. At the end, when it was time for us to pay, the owner called a Korean chef to come out to ask us in Korean whether it is truly me who made a reservation because the reservation was under my name (Japanese) and we were speaking in Korean. The chef said the restaurant had dealt with a situation.. a person dined for free using a different person's name(?) so they had to be cautious. When I told the chef the reason why my name is Japanese is because my father is Japanese, and that I was speaking Korean because my mother is Korean, the chef and his staff apologized. I had never experienced racism like this in LA. Thank you for ruining our mother-daughter time!

I’m conflicted between giving this a four or five star. Loved the ambience, the chef, and the food. But maybe this is just personal preference (and a general statement on any high-end sushi), but I feel I would be just as happy eating the omakase at Sugarfish for half the price and more food. I was expecting something completely otherworldly and different here, but nothing like that, just a solid sushi experience.

Amazing amazing amazing.
Seasonal fish is incredibly fresh form feel. I feel as if fish is diving into my mouth. I realize the real taste of raw fish for the first time.
Definitely the first choice.

I must say it was below my expectations. I probably won’t back again.
For taste, few pieces were 5/5: King Salmon, Yari Ika, Shima Aji, Kamasu. Some pieces were 4/5.
But the Ikura was too freezing, Uni was fine, 3/5; the Ishigaki Gai wasn’t fresh, it’s too fishy and nauseated me for at least an hour, they gave me 50% off for this one when I checked out but to be honest I was not willing to pay for that one, 0/5.
For rice, the rices were warm but not really sticking together, especially for the last few pieces. The rice of Anago broke in half when I picked it up.

Great omakase experience ???? Chefs at the sushi counter were both very talented and friendly. I arrived late due to the heavy traffic but the staffs were accommodating and made sure we enjoy the most of the course. Sushi were very fresh, was told many of the fishes I enjoyed arrived fresh today from Japan. Nice and clean restaurant. Located on the 2nd floor of the plaza.

Great new sushi experience in Little Tokyo, on the 3rd floor of the Weller Court mall: this place took over Mako sushi, which was also very good.
I tried the omakase for lunch and I was impressed by the quality, variety and presentation.

Sushi Hide just opened and it's AMAZING ???????????? Soup was so delicious and complex. Friend loved his assorted nigiri and I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon, scallop, uni, ikura, and crab. The off menu sardine roll was super exciting. IT WAS SO FRESH!
Safest covid distancing I've experienced ???????????? Parking entrance for the plaza is on second. Validation for 2h. Will definitely return soon!

Among the best sushi of my life! Super fresh, most and melt in your mouth yellowtail sashimi! a really unique and delicious seaweed salad, not just seaweed! We say at the bar and watched the chef blaze the eel before our eyes! Chef was proud of his cucumber tree he made forme ???? Worth the price

This place is the best small traditional sushi joint in little Tokyo. The two sushi chefs and servers make sure every part of the experience is authentic and enjoyable. The fish is top notch. The cooked dishes components the sashimi/sushi. Omakase has some familiar and some more seasonal elements. Sapporo and Asahi on tap. The place is tiny and fills up on weekends. 2 hour parking with validation.
