Meat Love Korean BBQ Reviews

Overall Rating

Brought here by a local friend. Friendly staff and wide selection of meats to choose from. Since it’s a kbbq place, was asking for ssam (veg wrap) for the meats and was told they don’t have such a thing. Nonetheless, enjoyed the night and ambience was similar to Korea.

Over all 7.5/10 experience. I will not be returning. You get what you pay for.
B health rating. Not esthetically pleasing but inexpensive, quick service and ayce.

Staff friendliness and service 10/10.
They are all extremely attentive and clear any dishes and replenish your request rapidly. They were the best part of the visit.
I just don't know how often they change their gloves between setting tables and carrying food and drinks around.

Ambiance 7/10.
It was outdoors so there was a nice amount of space between tables. However due to the outdoor setting flies were an issue, tables were not firm. The grill was too close to eye level and crowded a table for 2.

Pros: inexpensive, valet parking available for $3 and quick friendly service. Cool sides you don't find everywhere. Lots of residential parking available. Short wait times. They offer beer, soju, and pitchers on tap of blue moon or bottled "pitchers" of 2 other beers.

Cons: Marinate was very sudden, almost bland. Quality of meat was lacking. Saw a staff member wipe off stuff from a chair then set the table with the same dirty gloves. No he didn't use a rag just his hand to clean off the chair. Sides lacked flavor too, they looked like they'd been sitting out, none felt cold not even the macaroni salad. The interior of the restaurant didn't look especially clean. On the way to the bathroom the wall leading to the kitchen looked extremely dirty. In the men's room there was a cardboard box under the urinal. Women's bathroom was stocked and clean but still felt like it needed improvements. Due to open doors lots of flies inside and by the beer area too.

Great value and quality Korean BBQ place. Usually busy but normally wait times are not that bad, we always wait less time than they originally quoted us. I always get my fill and they have so many options for sides and goodies besides the meats.

This place deserves a 5☆ regarding their KBBQ options and portions, BUT their outdoor set up is terrible. Since the portable grills sit higher than the table, you get the grease sizzle on the table AND yourself. We were also sat at the open edge of the tent so our food took a LONG time to cook. The wind was blowing to we were cold too, and it would take a long time to get service.

Meat Love is a really solid Korean BBQ restaurant here in LA. I will first mention why only 4 stars.

First, seating is only outside in a tent. This is not good for a variety of reasons. The grill is elevated on a small burner on the side of the round table. This makes it hard to access, but what is worse is that the splattering oil will hit you and burn due to the height elevation and wind.

Second, staff aren’t as attentive as I would prefer. You have to really hunt them down to order more meats or side dishes.

Third, they intentionally give you a ton of the meats you order up front, causing you to get full fast and not get to try other meats.

The good parts about this restaurant is that the meats are delicious and fresh.

The best meats of the night were the beef brisket and smoky beef belly. These super thin cut meats had so much flavor and melted in your mouth.

The pork belly was ok. Definitely chewy and
Not that fatty. It was fine but nothing like I have had elsewhere.

The marinated pork ribs were pretty good. Tons of flavor, but the quantity was too much for one order.

They had good side dishes of rice, radish wraps, spicy cucumber, macaroni salad, bean sprouts, and fish cakes. These were all delicious and bountiful.

They brought out some fermented radish, but this was so fermented that it began tasting like wine which was not good.

Sauces included a standard sweet soy sauce, a spicy sambal, and the coveted salt and sesame oil.

Overall, we all had a good experience, and at a price of just $24, it’s a great value. They DO include 15% tip when they bring out the bill, so be aware!

Good food on a Saturday afternoon. All you can eat portions, you get a little stove with a grill and cook your meats to your liking, the place didn’t have lettuce salad, everything else was fine. The bill includes the service charge already. Good place to go if yo are very hungry

Great place for Korean BBQ, items on their all you can eat is limited but excellent. Portions are really big, ask for half portion of needed.

Parking is difficult if you come at peak time, so come early or don't drive your nice shinny car if you plan to park on side streets

Visited this restaurant on a recent trip. Opted in for their eat-all-you-can, the food was fantastic and there were a lot of meats to choose from. The restaurant has an inviting outside atmosphere and service was great as well! I like how they constantly change the ‘grill’ that way the meat isn’t charred nor taste like it’s charred.

Absolutely amazing experience. Excellent food and flavor. Our Uber driver recommended the place and we are glad we listened.

There are so many options for KBBQ in this city, but this place manages to still make an impression on me. Great prices and great quality food. The banchan is all legit here, which is always a great litmus test for the rest of the food. Meat itself was pretty amazing, not what I was expecting. Def gets packed here so plan accordingly!
